"love in the time of cholera" by garcia-marquez
"the god of small things" by roy
"the poisonwood bible" by kingsolver

anyone read these? comments?

Summer reading is the Devil

10 Honors

The Good Earth-Pearl S. Buck
The Count of Monto Cristo
Ethan Frome
A Seperate Peace

the only would I would suggest is a seperate peace. The good earth was decent until the main character told his wife she was ugly and bought a whore to live in his house..

For my high school, i have to read Ellen Foster by Kaye Gibbins, and There Are No Children Here by Kotlowitz. i read them already fo my 11 Amer. Lit class. no bad of books. i would recommend There Are No Children Here. u get a crash corse on urban poverty, violence, the projects and gangs in 1980's Chicago. really good book. also for fun reads i would totally recommend these for the girls:

*Gossip Girl novels (all 5 are soooo good!)
*Confessions of a Shopaholic novels
*This Lullaby
*Sloppy Firsts novels
*Can You Keep a Secret?
and the *Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontle Snogging novels <---HILARIOUS!
there ya go! these aughta keep u busy over the summer! all are fantastic reads.
