Soooo close. So far it's been stable for 24 hours. Tonight before I go to bed, I'm gonna tweak the settings just a little more to see if I can get high 3.9 or simply 4.0 cool.gif

Anyone here pushing their processor near this speed/frequency?

I still dont know how to overclock.
Is this overclockable?Processor

Honestly I would rather have stability than extra ghz. Right now your computer is like at its max. Your just having fun now. haha

edit:nvm , i see in the review some people overclocked it to like 4.15.

Honestly if I water cooled the processor and had the full 16GB of RAM installed I could hit 4.8GHz.

The Motherboard, RAM, and Processor are capable.

Eww the E8500. You would have been in GREAT hands with the E8400 E stepping. Unfortunately I didn't learn about the positives of the E stepping until 2-3 months after I bought this processor =\

But yes, that's clockable. I've seen those push 3.8s just air cooled. You gotta know how to over clock the memory, front side bus, and the processor in order to accurately over clock your system.

And believe it or not... at 3.8GHz, some how, some way.. my internet is seriously faster. I shit you not.

Cool. But my Quad core still rapes your dual core.

No no.. it's not a bad processor. In fact if you wanted you could more than likely push it to 3.6GHz without touching the voltage. If anything you'd have to make sure that the memory isn't being overly clocked.

As far as over clocking with, it's not considered favorable.

Your individual cores kick my individual cores asses. But many weak cores come together to make strong processor.

I don't overclock this machine, but my other computer is OC'd. It's factory speed was 600MHz, I've overclocked it to 1.4MHz. I'm afraid to go too much higher, considering how old it is, and that the machine still has stock cooling.

Ya.. if you're not entirely sure as to how things work you could make a horrible mistake. I figured if I ever burned this processor I'd buy another one but the next time I'd make sure to purchase the E stepping that way I could easily hit 4.0GHz _smile.gif

I wish my computer was like yours! Haha. Mine is slow as poop. :[

Go to college/university, graduate, and you'll easily have a machine like this... if not even better cool.gif

I've put $1,600 almost $1,700 into this so far and I've seen $2,500+ machines that would near literally rape my machine. I mean straight up mount my tower and start humpin it while robotically repeating, "who's your daddy".

Hm... I can't tell you the specifics because all processors are different, motherboards, memory, BIOS settings etc..

It's no longer about the size of one's cock, rather, the size of his GHz.

I have been looking and put together the computer I want. an it all rounds to 500 bucks not including monitor! 4gb ram, 3.16 ghz dual core processor, nvidia geforece video card, blue light up case(SHINY!) and a 22" monitor.

The one thing that aggravates me about Newegg is that their deals are so awesomely great that literally... within 24 hours, that item that's on sale will be sold out. And when they finally get those in stock, they're no longer in some sort of deal. With Newegg you need patience, there's times when they have amazing deals and when they don't and when they do, try to be quick to make an order, otherwise you're gonna end up waitin for the next deal.
