Have you ever been through a phase where you weren't satisfied with your progression as an artist and you feel that your not growing like you want to? Well I am going through that and it's frustrating and depressing how I can't seem to come up with a good idea and when I do it dosen't turn out the way I want to and I get discouraged. I know the advice everyone gives, and that's to practice, practice, practice, but I can't even do that without quitting from being so pissed off!

How do you think I should approach this because sometimes I feel like giving up and that is not an option?

Sometimes some of things my parents say just make me feel that i want to give up. They will always say you did great but you could have done this more. Sometimes i feel the no matter what i do it doesnt matter.
My parents are doctors and for a while i know they were a bit stunned when i said i wanted to pursue a career in graphic design. They managed to say that i wouldn't find a job easily and stuff like that. Though now its gotten better and my parents have accepted that fact more.
Still i occasionally have problems still in the first paragraph area

Yeah, don't give up. Just write down any ideas you get and look through different resources like websites, magazines, and etc. Every designer will always have a "Designer's Block". You also just need to relax and let loose. You'll eventually get something if you don't try too hard. Sometimes I get my ideas from things I see outside or things I hear. I even got a few ideas from things that were going on in my community and social life. Good luck. thumbsup.gif
