The fact that you're posting about this now, when this campaign is months old, shows that you don't know what you're talking about.

So wait... I don't know what I'm talking about because this campaign is months old? Holy shit that's a new one! Don't tell me, you're a PETA advocate, aren't you?

Basically fish have feelings and bond with other fish as well as their owners (pet fish). So what? Should we call dogs, "cats" too? Or how about skunks? Anyone can look up their reasoning behind it and laugh at their retarded-ness. rolleyes.gif

Actually, all it "proves" is that PETA is really, really good at getting people to talk about its message.

PETA doesn't really expect, or even want, people to call fish "sea kittens". It just wants publicity. And it worked -- you're spreading information about PETA, aren't you?

lol @ scientology. I looked it up.. it's a huge scam. You go to a church where they teach you that if you give them tons of money they'll tell you the meaning of life... and they DON'T tell you until you pay them. Wiki said it's very expensive.

In the sense that...both try hard to raise publicity of their existences through the use of crazy publicity stunts?

What good is tryin to get publicity when you represent something out of this world retarded? Especially when you're a hypocrite. It's like a bank robber running in the middle of the street and shouting, "hey I just robbed a bank, here's all my personal information". mellow.gif

I'm sure PETA doesn't think its stance on animal rights is "out of this world retarded". Likewise, I'm sure you hold beliefs that others might find "out of this world retarded". I'm sure I do, too; for example, I hold the belief that the Pittsburgh Pirates will have a winning season before the close of the 21st century, but most people know that's poppycock.

QUOTE(illmortal @ Mar 10 2009, 01:14 AM) *
Especially when you're a hypocrite.

I'm...not sure where hypocrisy comes into play here, vis-à-vis that article. Admittedly I know little about PETA, and care even less, so maybe you're alluding to some sort of scandal or policy of PETA's that is hypocritical with regards to animal rights.

Hm. No. I don't think PETA's stance is like that at all. (Although your simile is certainly one that Thomas Friedman would respect.)

PETA is strongly hypocritical in regards to animal rights. I once respected them, but f*ck them. stubborn.gif

No... since there was no hypocrisy involved. I was pointing out within that analogy that PETA pulls off scams and have actually committed crimes against animal rights yet they're begging for more attention with publicity. wink.gif

No I'm not a PETA advocate. Full disclosure, although I don't care much for PETA, I am a vegetarian. And in a world full of various extremist groups, I wouldn't go around casting stones, especially since PETA is relatively nonviolent.

PETA2 is aimed at a younger (teen - young adult) audience.

Does anyone even know the 100s of thousands of people these morons offended, especially Native Indians?!? The autism statement? The latest, "Greyhound attack" statement? Or that filthy freakin commercial they had showing animals getting slaughtered? huh.gif

Besides the fact that they stopped doing throwing blood back in the 90s, I'd take getting blood thrown on me as opposed to being blown up by a suicide bomber. Just sayin'.

Ya except people actually condemn suicide bombers as oppose to people who sit there and let such an organization exist.

Whack Jobs:
