I got a job making a layout for a jewelry website yesterday, and thanks to a day off from school, I've already finished. The person wanted the layout to look similar to this site, and I tried my best to interpret it into a cleaner design.

It's that kind of cute that makes you want to barf a little, I know.

Edit
WTF?! Look what she did to it: click. Should I say something or just leave it? She did pay me...

^Haha I know which store you're talking about.

I think it's cute but I can see why it would make you want to barf. It's totally not your style. I think you succeeded though. nice job. :D

And woah, how come nobody told me about this Pink Ice store before? I could have used it a few weeks ago when I was looking for a dress...

Anyway, thanks guys. Unfortunately, the girl I made it for totally shitted it up: click. stubborn.gif

Wow okay that's just stupid. I would tell her. I'm sure it says on your website that the credit needs to stay there, right?

I didn't have anything about the credit in the terms, but honestly that's not what's bothering me the most. Why would I want my credit on it now? It just irritates me that I spent hours on this and even though I asked her several times, she never told me she wanted something changed.

This is what I told her:
QUOTE
I just wanted to let you know that I'm slightly disappointed in the fact that you decided to make such drastic changes to the layout I created for you. I asked you several times to tell me if there was anything you wanted changed, and never once did you mention you wanted a different image or shade of pink. I know my terms said nothing about changing anything or deleting my tiny credit link, and in the end I was still paid for the project, but just as you expect people to respect the hours of hard work you put into your jewelry, I expect the same from my clients. I just ask that if anyone inquires about where you got your layout from, you do not refer them to me. What you've turned the layout into is not how I want my work to be represented.

Atomic Affliction

As soon as I can get to the computer with all my website files, I'm changing my terms.

You need to talk to her cause she removed the credit!
I have been in that situation before. I made someone a website and when i looked at it they changed stuff and ruined it.
She really ruined that logo. Ask her if you'd like to change it for her. Cause you dont even want your credit on the site if its crappy.
edit:O, i didnt see your post.
What you said was perfect.

Thanks guys.

Gah, that makes me so angry. *Just think of calm oceans and Jesus, Gab.*

I might just change the links and title and turn this into a Myspace layout now. Why have all that work go to waste, you know?

It's a damn shame they did that because the one you made is very nice. I couldn't find anything wrong with but now that she changed it, blah. I still think you did a great job overall. thumbsup.gif

holy crap TJ, what happened to your vocabulary?..lol

That happen to me before and I did it for free, so it really pissed me off. I like the layout you did, it's really cute. She f*cked it up and she's a copy cat too, she has no originality. Her site is set up exactly the same as the other site. I dislike people like her.

I really don't understand what she was thinking. Even if her changes did look nice, why would you pay $35 for a layout when you were going to completely change it anyway? That seems a little backwards...

Anyway, thanks for the ermm, support? guys. At least I know I'm not bananas for thinking mine looked fine.

I'm glad you told her, Gabi. She had no right to do that.

I want to know what she says. popcorn2.gif Never mind, then.
