t-pain is as main stream as it gets.
not that there is any logical reason to compare him to hip hop artists since all he does is sing through an autotune rather than rap... but there is many many hip hop artists that are mainstream and better than him. if you think t-pain is a better hip hop artist than jay z, you have no clue what hip hop is. nas, kanye, lupe, the list goes on of hip hop artists better than t-pain. but like i said, he's not really considered hip hop by anyone who listens to it, so it's a non issue. |

If you can't enjoy simple music, and catchy beats, than I feel sorry for you. Snap Your Fingers is such a catchy and soothing song. I played this song in the car on my first date with this girl, and she loved it.

or This > T-Pain. Just sayin' Papoose is the exact guy I had in mind when I was saying great lyricist with a horrible voice. If I wanted inspiration I would listen to Lupe not this dude. If I could count the amount of hits that Papoose had on my hand, I wouldn't have any fingers. |

But he hasn't left the label that made him mainstream. He postponed LupE.N.D., and will release 3 more albums before it. Yup, he really is going back to the underground.

No. Because of LupE.N.D being postponed, he is releasing 3 individual albums in the meanwhile including The Great American Rap Album this summer. These 3 albums are NOT part of LupE.N.D.

If you haven't figured it out, you never will. And I'm not gonna spill the beans as to what makes them different. let me guess, you prob listened to a few underground rappers, heard that everyone claims underground is the shit and you decide to join the bandwagon. what a sad f*ck you are, you're like a 16 year old who learned a few facts and decide to base your entire life around them. arguing with you is useless seeing how your eyes are set on your own track with no regard to the fact that hell, maybe you won't always be right. also, Public Enemy > Immortal Technique bitch |

Likewise, if a mainstream rapper happens to be puttin' down some real ish, than I'll like 'em regardless (i.e. Where is the Love? -- Black Eyed Peas).most of the better MCs just happened to be underground, but it's not a matter of causality Uh no. And LOL @ anyone who says that Tpain doesn't have material in his songs. TPain - Change TPain is that dude. Anyway Arjuna ethered this whole thread. He on point about good and bad music. A wack artist is wack whether he underground or mainstream. A good artist is good whether he mainstream or underground. Just about every rapper starts off underground before they make it to the mainstream anyway. Crank That was a underground hit before it hit mainstream. So by someone's analogy since its underground the material is different. Therefore, Soulja Boy dropped a meaningful song because it was underground. |
