Well it took about two hours to make but I think it's worth it. I know I could've probally done better but I'll leave it as it is right now.

To be completly honest...
I dont really like it.
I mean its a cool idea but I didnt think you would use it.
And i mean. Its kinda basic.
Id rather see you put ur cb layout on their.
Edit: also the bg image is ginormous! and takes foeva to load!

It's a great idea. I think, though, that it'd be better if it was a more horizontal layout instead of a vertical. If it was horizontal though, no scrolling. I still think you should try something not sooooo boxy. For once. Pleasseeeeeeeee. :D

You and that grey, man. I think for this it just stands out WAY TOO MUCH. You should probably try a lighter golden color. The grey just doesn't match. At all.

Also, it's a Victorian styled layout. And you're using Arial Bold as a font? Why not try Georgia or even a modified Times Roman. It just doesn't match at all. Also the links overlap WAY TOO MUCH. I can't even click the ones behind there. Also, the links shouldn't be black/grey. Way wrong colors.


OH! Try maybe weathering the frame a bit. It looks too shiny and your background pattern is kind of...eroded.


It didn't take forever to load for me?

Grey technically matches with everything but that doesn't mean you always have to throw it in there. I avoid grey unless I'm working with black and white photos. It just makes anything else depressing.

Not bad. Its a nice concept. It looks definitely better than the grey color.

on the updated version,

the background took forever to load
the text is slightly mis-aligned... some of the text is going on top of the frame
the rollovers... they're extremely annoying :X I didn't know rollovers could even be annoying.....
I don't really like that the letters are slanted in "MIKEPLYTS" and "NAVIGATION" and "COMMENT."

also, I just noticed that the picture frame isn't straight.. it's slanted sort of, which bugs me >.< .. with the slanted text it makes the whole page look like it's about to slide off of my computer screen..

Dude you seriously need to learn how to save stuff for the web.
Almost every layout I have seen that you have made that has rollovers take a long time to load. And that jittering thing aint cool.
One of the hardest parts about web/graphic design is making a cool site that still loads fast.
I take pity on any dial up user that has ever seen one of your layouts.
But apart from all thet its pretty cool.

You need to fix it for firefox
I don't really like the shinynessness of some words (like the nav, comment, etc) because they don't suit the background. The frame also fits into here because it's STILL too shiny ._.
I think the box as a whole is pretty bright compared to the background so I don't really like the colours you've used...

Its just an image with an about me. You need to to images separately.
The load time is pretty hefty.

Ok mike, use other peoples art as influence. Try and do what they do because obviously just hearing people tell you want wrong with your layouts isn't enough. You keep doing the same thing over and over, but with slight variations.
