Their are animated backgrounds but they lag alot depending on how much graphics are moving in the background. I suggest you don't use one at all but that what I think.

yep, i've seen a few ppol on xanga using animated gif backgrounds (1024 x 768) that aren't overly animated and load up quick. i'm not sure though where they got them from unless they were self designed.

I would just go with an animated banner. Most animated backgrounds are large and take a while to load and really lag your computer.
Animated banners are relatively easy to make, there's a tutorial on them in Webdesign. |
