Post it up.
Ive been liking looping techno ish stuff.
I cant work to words with songs.
I get too distracted and my mind gets cluttered.
But for easy listening i like
Kanye west when i want to listen to the lyrics
killers when im not really paying attention to the music
I also have just the latest "hit" songs and i just listen to them on shuffle.
yall should take a listen to tally hall - the whole world and you.

Im out of itunes money...

My listening today alone has gone from R&B to freak folk to hip-hop to new wave to shoegaze with some random stuff in between.

Amazon is DRM free.

The stupidity of limewire has nothing to do with the illegality of what it offers.

It's mostly the principle of the thing. But also itunes mp3s are only 128kbps, which sucks. Amazon is 192, I think. Oh, you can't play them anywhere but itunes either, and that's not cool. I mean, ffs, you can only play them on 5 authorized computers. That's retarded. Not to mention itunes plus is just insulting.

yeah i would agree with you then in general probably.

for me i don't have any need to play them anywhere besides my itunes and ipod. i don't need to put them anywhere besides me and my gf's computer, so the limit hasn't effected me either, although i would be pissed if it did. most of all it's just easier to me to have everything together in itunes and be able to just go to the itunes store directly from my itunes and grab some music. i don't buy a ton of music though. i only really ever pay for it when i feel like the artist really earned the money and i want to support them.

it kept telling me to upgrade to itunes plus, and i was like f*ck no. i would not pay extra for that.

There's plenty of metal that does not at all fit what you're thinking of. Nu-metal, on the other hand, is just bad. There is not one nu-metal band out there that gets or deserves any respect.

Yeah, between parents' computers and being on my third harddrive, it's not the last bit hard to need to run out of authorizations. It is convenient to have the itunes store there, but that's how they get away with ripping you off as badly as they do. DRM is supposed to prevent piracy, but really it just perpetuates it, because those of us who like to share music have to find alternative ways of doing it.

I think Korn deserves respect, i think some slipknot does, and well Limp Bizkit only has 1 song i like.
But those are the only nu-metal bands i like/listen too.

dude, trust me... you're going to be embarrassed, someday not all that far into the future, that you've defended bands like slipknot & korn. you're really young. you just, can't stop exploring music. and, you really really really have to make an effort to venture out of your comfort zone.

try listening to some old old old leonard cohen or something. anything from his first three albums, especially "suzanne," "famous blue raincoat," "dress rehearsal rag," "sisters of mercy," and "the butcher."

eclecticism is good.

p.s.

ahhaha, yeah. it's so weird.
well, it isn't like MPP is anything like "spirit they're gone, spirit they've vanish," or "feels," or even "strawberry jam" for christ'sssss sake. it's a very digestible, far more pop leaning, and far more conventional album in comparison. nonetheless, it's still clearly AC. i just wish that there were more cawing & screeching & yelping... oh well. it's still a really good, very fun album.

p.s. blueish is my favorite.
p.p.s. i saw them in chicago two weeks ago. it was pretty killer.

Oh yeah, it's way poppier and more accessible than any of their older stuff, but it was a pretty huge jump. We can't play anything that's made the top 200 list, so for them to get to 13 seems kind of insane. I mean, they seem pretty popular to me, but I live in my own little musical world and have no good conception of how many people actually listen to a band.

They're not coming to Atlanta. This makes me very sad.

My favorite kind of music tends to shift from jazz to abstract hiphop and back to jazz depending on the mood.

I tend to listen to a LOT of Stones Throw albums. Madlib is the shit.
