What are some things that you can do/say that would make your parents feel like they're bad parents or maybe feel guilty?

I don't know about making them feel guilty, but my dad got really mad once because my sister said something about him not caring that she had to walk home even if it's dark out. He completely flipped out and yelled at my sister for thinking he doesn't give a shit about us. Yeah.

I told my father he was mean to me. He was nice for like 2 days and then went back to being an ***hole.
Apparently when I was younger, I guess five or six, my mother made me upset and I told her, "You hurt my heart" and she still talks about that now. That must've made her feel pretty guilty. |

There's nothing funny about cancer, and it's utterly despicable of you to goad others into admitting that they think there is. You're still pretty young, so I'll try to forget this exchange ever happened.

This is a sad thread...
Why would you want to make your parents feel guilty... Whenever I dont listen my parents they get mad and then they say " you dont even care" but I actually do. But I always laugh when they get mad at me which DOESNT help! Its just hard to not laugh when someone with a british accent gets angry. |

I don't try to make people feel guilty, I don't think its right. I usually just say what I want to say and if they feel guilty, it's not because I tried to make them feel guilty, its just their conscience or their own thoughts, ya know?

Define: bad parenting.
They clothed you, fed you, and provided a roof for you to sleep under, so I have no room to complain. It's the bare minimum, and by my standards, that's not enough to raise a child, but why guilt trip them? |

I mean, I understand that there are parents out there that do a half assed job, if that, of parenting but the majority of times I hear kids talking shit about their parents it's because of something inane - like not letting them having something material or because they don't approve of who they like or something. Being a parent is a f*cking challenge so before you start pulling some bullshit guilt trip, think about how life would be without them. |
