I really like the background thumbsup.gif
Although, I think the black fadeness around the whole square takes up a lot of space.

I like the purple font.
But the font you used for the links are too much. Go with something simpler.
And the clover's kind of confusing to me.

It's good for a first layout.
Remember balance between font style, colors, and background images.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

In the original image, there was a big blank white space so I had to use something to cover it up so it wouldn't look weird. Hence the big fading gray space.

The multi colored picture of myself, the clover and the text, just things I had to use to break up the space. Still not sure what to do with it.

I think I made everything a bit to small as well.

Simple is my style.

I was also wondering...Slices VS Mapping?

I like the background but I'm just not feeling it. To me, it seems like you just used a random background, put a black square on top of it, & then added the shamrock. And yes the font choice could have been better. I think you should use the background in some way. I'm not sure how though. "/ Maybe you should try & look through the layouts we've accepted to get some ideas & inspiration. But this isn't that bad for a first Div. Good job. flowers.gif

Oomph fonts > no _unsure.gif
I do kinda like the layout.. but I would use a thin border in stead of the faded edges..
But hey, it's your first layout! And for your first time, it's pretty damn good!

It's pretty nice for your first layout although I agree with what everyone else said here and I definitaly do not like the font for your links. Also, I dk if this such a big deal, but maybe you could try changing the color of the copyright and moving it down a bit so people don't get confused. But, yeah, it's alright. thumbsup.gif

etc
