I went to the kitchen to heat up lunch and saw a mouse in a mouse trap that housing maintenance must have put out. It was still alive and stuck to the glue on the tray. It kept crying and yanking, trying to get itself out.

I felt like crying, seriously. Now I've lost my appetite.

no, i told the super and he took care of it.

i'm half tempted to remove all the glue traps and put in normal, non-lethal traps, but my roommate told me it was a stupid idea.

rachel (2:32:56 PM): we should throw out the trap
me (2:33:02 PM): yeah
me (2:33:04 PM): but if we do that
me (2:33:11 PM): we need to replace them with non-lethal traps
me (2:33:16 PM): bc having mice isn't a good thing
rachel (2:33:32 PM): well, yeah
rachel (2:34:05 PM): even a lethal trap but one that kills them instantly
me (2:34:10 PM): yeah
me (2:34:15 PM): poison traps?
me (2:34:21 PM): i never used those at home
me (2:34:24 PM): bc of my dog
me (2:34:32 PM): but i think my suitemates would know
me (2:34:36 PM): not to eat the mouse trap
rachel (2:34:58 PM): AHAHAHA
rachel (2:35:05 PM): hopefully
me (2:35:41 PM): yeah
me (2:35:43 PM): if they dont
me (2:35:46 PM): no real loss right?
rachel (2:35:54 PM): exactly
rachel (2:36:02 PM): it would be doing the universe a favor, actually
rachel (2:36:17 PM): If they're stupid enough to eat poisoned mouse food, you don't want them procreating

Put it in a trashbag, step on it, then throw it in the dumpster. Go back in the house and sanitize the entire area, then proceed to carry out the rest of your day.
