I finally have my site up and running. It's still kind of bare bones right now, but everything with all the photos should be up by tomorrow. As always, if you have any comments or critiques, I highly appreciate it! I've always appreciated this comm's opinions.

nah it's a really cool site, i liked it since you first posted it around here but that was when there wasn't anything on it. it's really nice. i'm on the "style" section and the font is pretty hard to read though.

It's nice. I'm not fond of flash websites, but it's nice for one. I can recognize that.

What bothers me the most is the intro. The "we are open for business" thing... it's just a wee bit bothersome and it doesn't segway quite well into your website. I feel like it could be taken out completely and provide an even better web experience.

:)

The font is too tiny, it could be bumped up a couple of sizes. However, the aesthetics of it are nice and you don't stray from a certain style.

Also, the letters floating around behind the text can be obtrusive. Maybe lower the opacity? I'm not sure.

It's really nice. Good work.

Hm...I was thinking about making it so that once a person sees the intro once, then they won't see it again if they ever come back to the site via cookies. I think it would be good to see it once - perhaps just once - and not after that. I'd still like to keep it (and it took so long to code each of those individual letters T____T)

It also seems like I should up the size of the font. If there are any other suggestions, please keep them coming!

Would someone try testing out the contact form and telling me if they get a confirmation email? And also, is anyone having problems with the music? Like it getting cut off?

Great job. Looks professional. However, some people dislike too much music on pages, but it works well on this page, I think.

Okay, I increased the size of the font, and put a "Skip Intro" button on the first page. I also added a background to the loading transitions to the main site. Is it still difficult to read the text?

Make sure your text fields are placed on coordinates that don't have any decimal values (i.e. if for example before the x and y were 251.4 and 102.62 then round it off to 251 and 103). I'm not sure if your doing that or not and maybe choose a font like Arial, one that's easy to read. Oh and there is no confirmation e-mail. Also an idea, if you don't have an e-mail checker (to check if the e-mail is valid) you might want to implement one to make sure you don't get useless e-mails and the such.

extremely hard to read the font.

Shame you can't turn the music off either. I don't have speakers that allow you to turn the music on or off or up and down.. they're built into the monitor; I guess I just have to bleed my ears off? :O

Okay. I'm probably going to make it so that the font is...really big. I think I know what the problem is. I'm using a screen resolution that's really high (like almost 2000 pixels wide) and Flash treats text like images, so it looks blurred or pixelated on resolutions that a lower than that.

As for the sound, I'm planning on putting a volume control and pause/play button. (I'm also planning on changing the song that's on the website as well). I'll let you guys know when all that's done! Thanks for the feedback, I always appreciate it!

P.S. Vote for Website of the Month! :D

Okay per everyone's request, the font has changed to be readable (hopefully). I also changed the music, and there's also a volume adjuster as well. Hope you all like it!

And again...votes would be greatly appreciated. ;)

The volume adjuster is a nice touch, though I'd recommend something that indicates that it's a volume adjuster. I didn't know what it was until I read your post.

The font is still a bit too close together and small to be perfectly legible. When people see paragraph text that isn't easy to read, they tend to just skip over it - something to keep in mind.

I also think it'd be a nice touch to have your links change when you mouse-over.

Overall, the flash is well-done. Great job.

I suppose that would be okay. I felt the same way as Alison towards the "We Are Open for Business" portion, but it redeemed itself a bit when I noticed how it was perfectly synched up with the background music... but still, even though your intention was to align it with the song, the loading time between each word is a bit slow. People expect lightning fast especially with the internet, and 15 seconds just to read a 5-worded sentence is a bit bothersome. For me anyway, that alone will hold a lasting negative impression and potential clients may feel this way as well.

But beyond that, the flash work was good overall. I really liked the part of the intro where all the floating letters came together; it was a nice touch.

Alright, I've taken in the suggestion about the introduction, and now a cookie is written so that a person will only see the intro once (unless they disable to cookie, of course). You can try it out - once you see the intro page, if you refresh, it will automatically redirect to the main home page.

I've also taken in the suggestion that something should be done when there's a rollover for the links. All the links, don't all work (some of those sections are still under construction).

I've also moved the volume bar to the top right and slightly indicated that it's a volume bar.

I'm still working on making everything completely legible, and there should be more content-wise.

Thanks for the feedback so far, everyone! I really take it to heart when you guys make any suggestions at all, so keep it coming! Thanks all to you who voted for me for Website of the Month, and again, any more would be greatly appreciated!
