Ive got a picture of me with a background i dont want, i swear there is an easy way to cut myself out so i can put it on a white background.
can anyone shed some light on an easy way to do this other than erasing everything around me? |

You can try the Lasso Tools or the Quick Selection Tool. Use one of those tools to make a selection around you, do a ctrl+alt+i, i think, which will do an inverse selection & press "delete."

Try the extract filter (Filter -> Extract). Use the brush around the border of what you want to cut out, fill in the inside, and the filter should do the rest.
It won't be perfect but it'll be fast. |

these both work, but i was just wondering how , well a lot of you head designers seem to do this so well, and make it look perfectly? so for instance, manny how did you cut out the guy in your avatar?

For that, I used the Quick Selection Tool. Sometimes it grabs stuff you don't want it to grab so I zoom in a lot, hold Alt down & click on the spots that I don't want selected.
