would you be the same person you are now?

You've been going by your name, or a variation of your name, for your entire life. If you were called Frank or Gertrude your entire life... do you think you'd end up any differently than how you are now?

No, not at all. A name is what you make it.

But say your name was Buffy and you were made fun of in kindergarten because of it and therefore developed a complex ... you don't think your outlook on life would be different?

I wanted to be Leonidas or Maximus. My last name would be Slaughterhouse or McLovin.

I would probably be different, somehow...

I mean I grew up with a pretty unique name, I can't for the life of me imagine how I'd be like if I was named Michelle or Jennifer or something.

I quite like Steven. Didn't always, but now it's cool. I guess it would also be cool to be named something like, idk, Max Powers.

Kevin, avatar wars w/ Evan?

i'd totally be a different person. while growing up, i got a lot of attention from teachers, deans, counselors, instructors, professors, etc due to my name, both first and last. it's what made them remember who i am for the most part. i also think it's the reason why i get callbacks for interviews. just my name on the resume is already an attention getter. i don't know if i'd be better or worse off, but i'd definitely be different.

meh. unless i was named something thoroughly retarded, i don't think it would have changed anything. considering i grew up around people named ji young, gun woo, seung hoon ... all doubled up w. english names ... i highly doubt things would have changed if i was a kim instead.

If i was named differently - perhaps an easier pronouncable name; my first days of the new school year, and or meeting new people would not be a burden to me.

and i can actually go to a souvenir shop and find my name on a keychain.

i'd definitely be a less irritable person.

lol. I'm a lucky one since my name is Michael. _smile.gif Anyways, yeah, I don't think my life would be different unless maybe I'd have a really wierd name.

I have a really simple name, but I like it. No one says my birthname correctly, which is why I'm glad that I go by Dee. I don't think Carlos Mencia's "deedeedee" or "deez nuts" have ever bothered me, haha.

I certainly think I would be different.

My name isn't hideous, it's just plain and boring...as well as a popular dog name (which was just more amunition for bullies). I have always hated saying it and ended up hating to say other people's names unless I'm referring to them indirectly.

For the entire 20 years of my existence, I never called my brother by his name. It wasn't until recently that I began calling people by thier name which is only because my job calls for that. _unsure.gif

I'm sure something would be different. Technically, you wouldn't be who you if you were named something different. I also take into consideration that many of us are named after someone, as I am named after my grandfather, and there is a certain expectation within yourself to live up to the name of a great person you were given.
