Has anyone here ever been to comic con? Well the one in San Diego?

How was it? Did you enjoy it? Was it worth it?

I want to go in 09 but not sure if its completely worth it, so thought I would ask any of you guys if you've ever been and how was it?

They don't sell tickets at the door anymore since it gets sold out online anyway - yea it's that hectic. I went on a Friday and it was SO CROWDED in almost all the areas. It gets more crowded every year and unfortunately they bump up the price of tickets every year since it's so popular.

But it's a fun experience, and if you want to buy some really cool stuff, there's a lot of different vendors, as well as independent artists.

WTF Kevin you should come with me to comic-con next summer, lol. Dude, I've been 3 times. 06-08.

I've been going for the past couple years, but I didn't go this year. It's kinda annoying that they don't sell tickets at the door anymore, but that means you can buy a kids priced ticket & not have them ID you shifty.gif
But I guess the online thing is understandable since it's so popular now.

Uhm...it's always super crowded, but fun to see everyone dressed up in those anime costumes & stuff (I always forget what it's called when they do that)

Oh & you usually get a ton of free stuff (movie posters & things like that) since most of the big vendors wanna promote their products. It's fun too cuz you get to see famous people, like Jessica Alba was there one year & I'm pretty sure the case of Heroes was there last year too & ditto with that guy from the 300 movie.

And if you plan on buying stuff, I'd suggest buying merchandise on the last day since that's when all the vendors are prone to making their prices lower to sell more.

I'm not to worried about the tickets, I was going to buy the membership badges so I could go the preview night. A lot of the artists that I collect pieces from are going to be there to promote their new items, so I wanted to go so they could sign all my stuff. Haha, I wouldn't want to dress up. It's not the best thing to do if its your first time I heard, and I don't even dress up on Halloween so it wouldn't be my thing.

And I don't watch enough movie or t.v. to even care about seeing famous people. I more than likely won't even know who they are sadly. But it would be neat none the less. I would like to see Kevin Smith perhaps, there has been rumors that he may be at the 2009 one.
