I hate the oneuppance people have with eachother. I have more on my plate, I'm more stressed... blah blah blah. One's stress is relative and just because their "list" might be shorter, doesn't mean that they're not going through just as much shit as the next guy. PS, I hate martyr complexes. |

I don't do the whole "I have more to do than you" and "Oh, well I am more stressed", because none of those are good things. If someone was like "I have a peice of cake" then I'd be like "Oh, well I have a bigger peice." 'Cause at least that's something good.

I notice this happening a lot at school. Its irritating...I've caught myself doing it and then I bang myself over the head.

It's funny among music majors, because we all actually DO have a whole lot on our plates - but each individual music major thinks he/she has it worse than everyone else. Really, though, I did sit down with my flute teacher the other day trying to find time to meet with my accompanist and I literally could not find an open thirty minutes ANYWHERE during the week between 8am and 9-10pm. I think complaining about this shit is often kind of unavoidable (just think about how few topics we'd have in the vip lounge if we didn't), but if you try to make it into a competition that's much more annoying.
