VH1 created a list of 100 of the greatest hip hop songs ever, but I think cB could clean up and revamp the list a little bit, eh.

So I figured we could compile a list of 100, and then maybe create a .zip or .rar package containing all the songs for everyone's enjoyment. shifty.gif

I'm not sure what's the best way of going about this. Maybe for the first rough draft, something like Mel's game where there's a set list, then everyone makes amendments to it. Let's start with 100-91.

Suggestions welcome. Oh yeah, you rockers can go ahead and make your own if you want to.

100. "Crank Dat" -- Soulja Boy
99.
98.
97.
96.
95.
94.
93.
92.
91.

Or would it be easier to start with VH1's list and make amendments from it?

@ Crank Dat being 100. Everyone knows that should be number 2 next to Eli.

Nah nah, but all jokes aside, it's hard to put together a list of a 100 songs because there are a list of songs I've forgotten about.

But here are a few just for now:

Fugees - Ready or Not
Pharoahe Monch ft. Mos Def, Nate Dogg - Oh No
Common - The Light
Jay-Z - Big Pimpin
Afrika Bambaataa - Looking For the Perfect Beat
Bone Thugs N Harmony - Days of Our Lives
Kanye West - Stronger _unsure.gif

Not in any specific order though.

More to come as soon as I can get it together.

you honestly think kanye represents hip hop as much as the rest of your list(although it lacks any Jay-Z or nas)? like i said, dude is sick, but he belongs in his own genre.

^I'll give you that.

In regards to College Dropout, that was as hiphop as it gets. Granted, he was carried by guest appearances throughout the LP, the guest appearances on the album were hiphop heavyweights. At the same time, a lot of people could say that Andre 3000 isn't hiphop because he has branched out and tried different things, but at the end of the day, he's still a talented emcee.
