apparently the auto industry is out to get more federal assistance. i just watched this lady on the news say it's imperative that we save the auto industry and it's detrimental to our national security if we left it fail.

what do you think? is there another bailout for detroit around the corner? should we save the auto industry if it comes to that? what about all those jobs?

No. There are companies pumping money into the industry as it is for their own personal interests. We don't need to make this a matter of national concern.

For example, bank A has lent x amount of money to Ford, and if Ford goes under, bank A doesn't get that money back. Bank A pumps more money in hoping ford get's it's ass in gear so it can pay back bank A. We don't need to bring in the FED.

I think it's a little ridiculous that these companies are asking for millions, even billions, of dollars when their top executives and CEOs are multimillionaires.

I dont think they deserve a bailout. I hear they are paying some of their factory employees up to 50 dollars an hour anyway. And if they were to bail them out, they would probably eventually go under anyway in a year or two

They don't make $50 in cash. Not that I agree with the (already failed) auto bailout, but I thought it was important to clarify.

It goes alot of way for this
i think we shouldn't give them a loan THAT big yet until we know they are responsible with all of it , cause we all know they will just use the money to pay their debts

but it would effect the whole state of michigan and other states, of course, if the businesses closed
i live in michigan and the certain area i live a lot of "rich" people from the car companies come up to my town in the summer their money helps our economy a lot
and if the cars cease to exist we only have two type of car brands then selling in my town, both that arent the best for the harcore winter conditions
alot of the small stores would close too

it's literally a giant economy food chain
