Ugh.
I was in the stacks of Butler Library yesterday, trying to get some hard-core studying done. The area I was in = red zone, which means no eating or drinking, right? This guy a few seats over opens this bag of chips or whatever, and I can tell that he was trying to be quiet because he opened it really slowly, but it bugged the shit out of me! He would reach in for a chip, the bag would crinkle, and then he'd crunch the chip for like... forever and then make smacking sounds with his mouth. Like, everytime he reached in for a chip, I wanted to smack him. Does he not see the "NO f**kING EATING OR DRINKING HERE DOUCHEBAG" sign that was right in front of him? I should have said something, but I just signaled to my friend (who was also getting mega-pissed) and we moved somewhere else. Has this (or a variety of this) ever happened to you? |

My friend Mark chews gum loudly purposely because he knows it drives me insane.
 Yeah, a bunch of people eat in my class so you can say you hear a lot of crinkling. >_<

I used to work in a call center for a travel company, and travel agents would call all the time while they were eating their lunch. One time the lady was eating fried chicken and smacking really loudly. I thought I was going to vomit.

my brother and father eats openly. i hate it at times because its like chomp chomp chomp and it's terribly annoying! and they have the slurping noise! goodnesssss, i can't be like dad stop eating like that. but i can do that to my brother. sometimes he does it on purpose.. ugh, little brothers are such a pain!

These things make me laugh. I love it when the office is really quiet and all of a sudden you hear crunchcrunchcrunch. It makes me giggle every time.

I have this paranoia that when I'm eating in a quiet room, everyone can hear me chewing. Well, I know they CAN hear me, I just worry that it bothers them because some people have a real disgust with that sound but just won't say anything about it. It's the worst thing ever when I go somewhere to eat and realize that it's way too quiet, and usually I end up not finishing the food.

I hate when you're in a quiet room and someone is eating chips and you can hear every time they chew. And the plastic bag ruffling doesn't help either.

My grandma gets on my nerves every time she eats, she smacks so loudly and then food flies out her mouth. It gets to the point that I just get up from the table and go to my room and eat. It drives me crazzzzzy!

The sound of people eating is my biggest pet peeve. It really makes me feel sick. I just don't see why people have to chew loudly, or breath like they are running a marathon while they eat, or sigh really loudly after drinking.
I was raised to have great table manners and they aren't that hard to obtain. |
