So I recently got back in touch with an old friend, we both had a rather... interesting... relationship, and things pretty much got off to a good start. We haven't seen each other in a few years so we spent a whole week catching up over email... and... well the conversation kind of died.
I don't want to loose his intrest, but I have no idea what to say next... What are some conversation starters or subjects you enjoy talking about that I may be able to use?? |

Ask him for his expertise, or a favor on something. That should buy you some more time to think of ways to be interesting.

Just talk about everyday things. You don't have to have a way out there topic to talk about to have an interesting conversation. Maybe you've just been talking to him A LOT and might need some time to yourself and then the next time you talk to him it'll be easier because you won't feel that pressure.
