new album released on itunes sept 9, released in stores on the 30th

I'm actually quite pleased about this album. I'd say in general the songs are more upbeat and I suppose more uplifting in terms of mood as well. His voice is immensely soothing and when paired with Meiko's (though I believe he has also sung this with Ingrid Michaelson), the result proves to be a perfect mesh.

i've only heard of The Fear You Won't Fall and Sky (duo with Ingrid Michaelson), which are actually quite mellow so i was surprised when you said it was "more upbeat". i'd definitely agree with you about the uplifting mood though... even though he's singing about not being able to get over a girl after a breakup and relationship problems. if you look at the lyrics, it sounds like a depressing song, but it's surprisingly sung in a lively/chill way. here's a snip-it of the lyrics
