there are two guys that i like, each for a different reason
one has class w/ me & the other i see at parties. both are super cute IMO, but idk how to get either of them to "talk" to me. like to be interested. i feel like if i open my mouth they will instantly be turned off. </insecurity> i know it sounds kind of stupid to like two guys, but maybe i'll have a chance with one. how do i get them to notice/be interested in me without being overbearing or obnoxious? how would you handle it? |

I wouldn't recommend dating anyone that you meet at a party for anything other than a 'casual relationship.'

It's stalker-ish if you seem to pop up everywhere his friends are.
Whenever you see them at parties, casually approach one of them and strike up a conversation. If you happen to embarrass yourself--which I don't think you will--then who cares? One little mistake isn't the end of the world. I totally understand the whole insecurity thing. But you haven't even made an attempt to charm them, so how would you know? The way I would handle it is to just be myself. If somebody doesn't like who I am, then why bother? I don't think you should put so much pressure into just getting guys interested. Rely on your personality. |

Why not? I met my girlfriend at a party, and we've been together for well over a year now. Meeting someone at a party is fine and dandy. When I think of parties, I think of the extreme. Excessive alcohol, blunts being passed around more than the girl upstairs getting a train run on her by the football team, lines of coke scattered throughout the house and a fight waiting to happen in every room. |

Wtf, sounds like you go to some pretty intense parties. There isn't a perfect way to approaching someone that you like. You just have to nut-up and do it when you get the chance. |

Yeah, man. Sorry. I forgot that you're so extreme that you have to remind everyone on CB how extreme you are every chance you get. |

Well, isn't that your reason for being on CB? To interact with people who you can easily impress and will thus kiss your ass? Hardly. I'm more impressed with the artistic ability of the individuals on this site. It's one of the main reasons I joined. That, and, most forums that I frequent are blocked on government networks. It makes no difference to me if the general population of this site is fond of me or not. It doesn't effect me in the least bit. I don't blame you for having the opinion that you have, but I can say that my often arrogant attitude (internet persona, I suppose) has caused many people on this forum to see me in a light that isn't me at all. |

So why not just be who you are, hm? Really, it sounds to me like you are trying to impress someone. Or everyone. |

So why not just be who you are, hm? Really, it sounds to me like you are trying to impress someone. Or everyone. You're getting warmer, but you're not there yet. It's not a matter of trying to impress anyone, it's just that I really don't care to open up the forum. I throw jabs here and there, and I'll show a glimpse of my ridiculously silly, or twisted, sense of humor, but that's about it. In 5000+ posts over the span of almost 4 years, I've certainly had my days when I was complete ass, but to say that I'm making some sort of attempt to willfully be this self-righteous, conceited, jerk, is just a matter of not knowing anything about me. |

Mm, no, now I think you're getting a bit colder. I think it's your own personal insecurities in real life that lead you to promote this arrogant, self-centered attitude on Internet forums like CB.
I mean, come on, Brandon, seriously? I make a statement about how you can successfully meet people at parties, and you swoop in and try to impress everyone by saying that you've spent a lot of times at crazy parties with alcohol, marijuana, sex, and coke, and then try to play it cool by saying, "I haven't gone to a party like that in 4 years. I've elevated my lifestyle quite a bit since then." I mean, seriously, who are you kidding? Just act like your f**king self. |

um so back to my problem... what would you do in my sitch? cuz i just want different opinions. Well, you can never really do much to "make" someone interested in you. But the biggest thing you need is confidence. Don't worry about talking to them. Strike a conversation, find something that you are both interested in, and go from there. But most importantly, don't afraid to be who you are and express yourself. |

if you want to get anywhere with anyone, you normally have to be friends first (unless you're a careless slut, which i doubt). just say hey and chances are they've seen you around & there might just be things to talk about. Confidence, plz.
