Regular band myspace woes, I'm trying to make a default band page using DIV, uberly confused

First off, I'm very sorry if there's already a topic like this. I searched everywhere and I've looked all over http://views-under-construction.blogspot.com/ and can't seem to find the solution to my problem. ):

So I'm making a band layout for a friend of mine, and I was wanting to place the banner underneath the music bar (like on Mayday Parade and Every Avenue's myspaces as well as a few others I've seen that are simpler). I couldn't figure out how to do this, so I tried using it as a DIV, and now I can't seem to figure out how to import all the stuff back to where it looks like a regular page. I tried using tables, but I'm not sure if that's the right way to go. And I can't seem to figure out how to even change the background color. I have no idea how this works. Any help?

i put a couple ways to add banners on my site, here. if you want it under the navigation, use the last one.

oh my gosh, you guys are like sent from heaven. :)

fixtatik- your codes were very helpful. :) The code I used from your page did put the banner underneath the navigation, but above the music bar. I don't know if you knew that or not, but just letting you know in case you didn't :) But thank you so much.

decaydancefbr- Your coding really helped me understand it a lot better. THANK YOU SO MUCH. :)
