[single] Ladies and gents..

What do you miss about being in a relationship?

I'm a huggy person, so I miss getting hugs that make you feel special. I personally look at it as a form of intimacy [cause not all intimacy has to be sex].

I do love the single life, though.
Just sometimes, being in a relationship has its perks.

I guess having someone there to listen to you no matter what time of day. But your friends are always there for you. Just in a different way. I'm not a very touchy feely person, so I don't really care if I get hugs or not. That's just me.

i totally understand the hugging thing... i esp like it when he just wraps his arms around you from behind. i also miss the cute kisses on the forehead :] and when he texts 'good morning' or 'good night' unexpectedly. wow, so what i just listed sounds a bit shallow if that's the only thing i miss, but i can't quite describe what i miss most without sounding cheesy and cliche. but i guess i just miss that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you're with that person _smile.gif

It's nice having someone to talk to about things, but right now, I enjoy the single life. :)

being able to just watch a movie with someone on a rainy day and fall asleep together. and just walking down the street holding hands, and swinging on the swings.

Hm. Having that person be with you 24/7. Talking on the phone all the time, getting hugs and kisses at every possible moment, receiving surprise roses for no apparent reason, having someone to actually look DECENT for, keeping mental notes during your day so that you can recap what you did for your significant other once your day is done, being cooked for (haha), cooking for them. It's just the little things that's normally expected to miss when you're out of a relationship. Nothing out of the norm.

I miss the fact that there's just someone there. How there's someone actually missing you and is excited for the next time they see you. And the hugs, the kisses, and the intimacy. Haha, plus the sex. It's definitely different when I'm in a serious relationship.

ditto irene. i miss that comfort you have with a person, knowing you can count on them and be able to talk to them... the feeling where you sort of feel like both your souls connect. I also miss inside jokes, intimacy, and those cute, genuine moments that you only feel with that one person. also, the fact that it gives you something to look forward to(whether it be talking on the phone with them at night or whenever you're going to see them next). That kinda stuff is the satisfaction i get out of a relationship.

But honestly, being single isn't that bad. You can be independent, you can flirt with whoever you want, and you don't have to deal with all the complications and responsibilities of having a boyfriend/girlfriend.

I love being in a relationship, but I could definitely cope with the single life - it just wouldn't be as good as I have it now.

i've been single since like may after a two and a half year relationship. i definitely miss the hugs and the cuddling and just having that person around. just knowing things are always better when he/she is around.

but i can't deal with a relationship right now. so yeah, i accept it. i get my hugs from my friends. happy.gif

I've always been single shrug.gif. I think I scare guys off.

But f**k, I love being single. Especially now. There's just so much less to worry about and less attachments.

I've been single all my life. I love it. You don't have to worry as much about what other people think, or just anything. It's so relaxing.

^ Oh believe me. Scaring off guys is an understatement. tongue.gif I don't know. I think I enjoyed single life when I was ALWAYS single. But after I dated several girls, and now single, I hate it. I prefer pre-8th grade single, than present single now. It's two new situations of being single.

Because, I already know how it's like being in a relationship, and I kinda miss that. So being single right now isn't all that great.

^Exactly.

I don't miss my ex, because he was an ass and the relationship actually ended on bad terms which I don't like to do. But I miss being with someone, and a part of a relationship....it gets a little lonely sometimes. Which I wouldn't normally have an issue with being single, but I just moved here so I don't really have many friends to just go hang out with here. :-P The one I have is at Davis now. Which isn't as close to me as Novato.

YES!
I totally agree.

Before 8th grade, single just meant not having somebody at school to call a boyfriend. Now, you actually realize that being in a relationship can sometimes be better than being single, especially if you see it in your friends.

I'm friends with two couples who have been together for almost two years, and sometimes I wish I have what they have.
The good thing is that they're not the gross all-over-each-other type.

However, being uncommitted to someone gives me great freedom and less obligations.
So..hooray for singleness and relationships!

Eh, I guess I miss having someone to fight with and be loved by. Someone to send flowers on Valentine's Day, someone to talk to on the phone without wanting to get off, oh good times. cry.gif But thats alright...single life is the way to go...I guess.
