there are a lot of CSS files posted here.. i've put up a few myself. you can open most css files in any editor, but notepad, frontpage, and dreamweaver seem to be the most commonly used.
look for some CSS example around here. you'll see most of them start and close with a style tag. when making a CSS file, you don't add the style tag, just the contents in them. upload it to your site [i save my CSS files in geocities, but most webhosts allow them too] and save it as filename.CSS no, CSS is not regular html. it's an attachment to html that edits the style of your site w/o interfering with your html codes. what makes CSS so convenient is that once it is opened, it is saved into the viewer's hard drive, so when they view your site again, it loads very quickly. with raw HTML, you have to wait for everything to load each time you see the iste so it takes longer. |
