What has been your favorite style youve seen so far for this yr for homecoming? I really liked the flapper look, its old school, yet elegant and chic. Is anyone going vintage for prom? If not, what are you wearing?

It's not too early for Homecoming since most are in October.

Nah, I don't like the flapper look, it's a little to boxy for most bodies. I wouldn't go as early as the 20's, but the 40's is always an era I'm willing to dabble in. wink.gif

Homecoming?
Mine's not until October.

Besides, all the girls at my school dress alike and wear the same types of dresses anyway.
Only a handful of them actually throw on some fun stuff in there.

What about styles besides those for homecoming and prom?

I hate the new choppy "scene" girl haircut. I think it looks stupid.

Me too!!!! I hate scene girls PERIOD.

Hmm, Well I saw somewhere that Kirsten Dunst wore a flapper dress, and it looked really good on her. Some people from "fashionising" posted her as the worst dress for 2008.

I really like the vintage look, or the 50's rockabilly style, its really cute. I never got over polka dots!

Do you guys recommend any websites that sell vintage, or unique elegant cute dresses? I wanna wear a cocktail dress, but with my style. No hoochie stuff either...

Only recommend websites that youve bought from.

There were two girls at my Grad this past June who did the whole flapper thing pretty literally. But they looked f**kING GORGEOUS! And totally stood out from everyone else.

Love the vintage look too, but I think above all, I love a cocktail silhouette, a dress to the knee. A long ballgown is just yawn-inducing and old-fashioned to me.

Why does it make you feel old misoshiru?

And yeah, I was a flapper for halloween. I know the costume isnt very haunting or fearful, but I wanted to go as something daring, and unique. I suppose the whole sexy look for females is over rated. I thought this dress was cute, I really like the style.

Me too. tongue.gif

I never went to homecoming. I went to one winter ball, two military balls (because I was in JROTC) and my prom. Prom was fun, but pretty overrated. What made it nice was the location. It was in an old restored building, very very 1920's glam.

Hello! I just looked at your profile, and it said you were born in 1988? WOW, I feel old! I was born 1984! haha.

Yes the 1920's I believe is the flapper's decade, I think it dragged on till 1940's, no?

whats everyone wearing to homecoming? I'm not into fashion hxc but I like formal dresses, and seeing how they look on people. :D
