1. Blaqheartedstar -Your icon was the most creative & went outside of the box. You used a great stock photo with nice colorizing techniques and to top it all with a nice touch of stamp edges. Great job!

2. venti-anemoi - It's simple yet depicts summer very well. The silhouettes are a great touch with a beautiful sunset in the background The water ripples in the sky are a great touch!

3. mystline - The light colors and the expression on the girls face just look great. Your icon gives that overall sense of carefree freedom that many people associate with summer. The cropping and positioning of the image is also good.


Bottom 2
1. vogueXdirge - This is one of the more creative submissions, but the colors make it seem more of a "winter of love" than a "summer of love." Maybe using splashes/hints of color here and there would make it more vibrant to portray the feeling of summer.

2. FreshYetDead - It is nice but the colors seem kind of dull, despite it's earthy tone. It's dark & doesn't really give a summer vibe. You sort of just added some text & cropped a picture.

Round 2 Theme
For next week, the remaining contestants are to make a set of icons (4) of their favorite movie. Once you are ready to submit your icon please Private Message your submission to all of the judges (that way we all have copies of your icons). Please keep in mind that once you send in your icon, you cannot send in another one replacing that so please be certain that's your submission when turning it in. All submissions are to be in by midnight on Wednesday, September 3, 2008.

Oh wow. Now I took a closer look and I can see it. What an illusion haha. Its like what I learned today about illusions in AP Art History, lol. From afar, like computer distance, it looks like water ripples. As I took focus, I can see the letters. Interesting!

You could just pick a theme and carry it out through all four icons. That's probably easiest if you want them to "match."

mines didn't come out like plan.... but i picked a pretty odd movie. Its my favorite but pretty hard to make into icons... whatever dying to see what all the other contestants came up with.
