I can't stand Rachael Ray (my dislike for her knows no bounds) and Gina Neely. Bobby Flay is kind of a dick, but he's not nearly as high on my shit list as Rachael Ray and Gina Neely. I don't like Giada de Laurentiis either, but it's more of an apathy since she doesn't move me in either way.

Right now, I really like Sunny Anderson. She's so cute and she lives in Brooklyn! And she blogs! =D I also like Alton Brown, mainly because of Good Eats.

oh man, this is my kinda thread.

rachael ray- she pisses me off. i used to watch her everyday after school, but i'm not sure why? i can't stand her lame ass jokes. plus, these meals do not take 30 minutes, that's a lie. it takes her 30 minutes because everything she has is basically already pre-washed, pre-heated, and cut up.

alton brown- i don't like alton brown because i think he's really obnoxious on his show. however, i don't mind him so much on iron chef.

paula dean- wow, i hate this bitch so much. i want to just punch her in the face when i watch her. her accent is the most annoying thing to me. plus her food sucks imo. she adds like two pounds of butter to every meal. i don't recommend her food to anyone who doesn't wanna clog their arteries in record time. plus, i bought her set of cooking pans with copper bottoms and i have to soak them all in warm baking soda water for 20 minutes before i can use them. that is just annoying to me, even though that's probably not really her fault, i'm still holding that against her. LOL Y'ALL! verymad.gif

sandra lee...i hate her too. what is the purpose of her show, seriously? all she does is make pre-made shit from boxes, as if we can't read directions ourselves. plus, 40% of the show focuses on table settings, which no one who has a life really cares about. i just think the whole thing is pointless. i don't need someone to show me how to squirt boxed pudding into store bought cupcakes and stuff like that.

the neelys - they're black, so i like them.

giada ee laurentiis
- she's probably my favorite. italian food is my favorite anyway and i think she has the best recipes. plus she's pretty, so she's my favorite to look at wub.gif

bobby flay - he's ok, he comes off as really cocky. i don't like him a lot, but i like his throw down show.

I completely agree with you about Rachael Ray and LOL @ your Paula Deen rant. I don't like her either, but not because of her accent, but, like you said, her supremely fatty food. I'm surprised her sons lived past childhood.

I also agree with your Sandra Lee critique, she is pretty useless. So useless I couldn't remember her name.

In regards to the Neelys, I like Pat, but I can't stand Gina. She's just so squeaky >< Speaking of people who are so black, that dude who hosts Big Daddy's House, Aaron McCargo. He's really good, he's really awesome at explaining what he's doing. I didn't see him on the Food Network Star show, but apparently he's come fairly far in his presenting skills.

And there are prettier Food Network stars than Giada! Like Aida:

You know what? I don't like the premise of Throwdown! because they fool these cooks into thinking they're going to have their own show, when, in reality, they're going to be on Bobby's show all about how he thinks he can cook everything, and probably better than those who specialize in each dish.

the person i really HATE is that guy that teaches like science with food? idk his name. but hes the white guy that hosts iron chef. i hate his other show. with the science thing. lol

Giada is kind of annoying, Sandra Lee as well. Rachel Ray isn't so bad, but she's just EVERYWHERE. Same with Paula Deen.
My favorite hosts are Alton Brown, Jamie Oliver wub.gif , Mario Batali, & Anthony Bourdain.

giada reminds me of a robot.

bobby flay is an arrogant ginger.

& I feel like sandra lee could be a borderline alcoholic. she always has a "cocktail time!"

I think that the Neely's are adorable together, though.

He is wub.gif I don't watch No Reservations as often as I like, I never know when it comes on, and then I'll be flipping through the channels and be like, "hey!" and watch it happy.gif

Oh, and adding to my list of favorite Food Network personalities: the cast of the original Iron Chef. Iron Chef America just doesn't compare.

Alton Brown is AWESOMEEEEE. He's the funniest personality on the show. Sometimes he's a bit of a ham and in your face but mostly he's funny.

Giada - I love her poise and she does bring her culture into her cooking. I think she's really pretty and very calm/collected in the kitchen.

Rachel Ray - I use to think Rachel Ray was cute and spunky but then she exploded everywhere and grated on my nerves.

George Duran
- Ah! I think he's so funny and such a down-to-earth guy. He's so unlike Bobby Flay or the other big named chefs who rub it in that they own 10 restaurants.

Sandra Lee - Really don't like her. I think her tablescapes are tacky (though sometimes pretty but who would ever go through the trouble of doing shit like that?). And she's a total alchly cause she always makes a cocktail and looks super excited about it.

Ina Garten - She's kinda boring sometimes but her food is always delicious and I like that she's calm and not speaking a mile a minute like Rachel Ray.

GIADA HAS THE BIGGEST HEAD OMGAHHH. its so unproportionate compared to her petite body... it just BUGS me soooo much. but i do love what she cooks, yummyyyy!

I can't stand Rachel Ray for more than 10 minutes. i really don't know why, but something about her just annoys me. oh & i don't like how she makes her own language that only hardcore fans would know, for example, "E.V.O.O. = extra virgin olive oil".

Sandra Lee is pointless.

Paula Dean to me is entertaining to watch when theres absolutely nothing else on tv at the time. everytime i watch her make something all i could think about is how fatty they always are. & then her voice starts to bug me & seeing all that butter... grosses me out.

I enjoy watching No Reservations, I don't have anything bad to say about it really haha. OHH and the original Iron Chef! idk why they don't play it on the food network anymore so i have to TIVO it on some other channel cus it comes on at like 3am.

Hmmm.. OHH and my all-time favorite is Emeril Live!! It sucks that they cancelled his show :(

I used to like Rachael Ray.
But now I find her schtick annoying and old.

Giada..whenever she pronounces her Italian food names with that accent, I feel like she's putting it on.
She can say spaghetti the American way, and we won't think her food is any less Italian.
Also, when she laughs..that wide open mouth and head thrown back. Just looks overdone.
Her husband's cute, though.
I don't mind watching her show.

Sandra Lee -- Her show is basically teaching you how to be the laziest host possible for your friends and loved ones. Who wants to actually cook stuff? No no no, we wanna let the factories do half the work.

The Neelys -- Can't stand them.

Bobby Flay -- Indifferent. Though my mom said to me one time that she thinks he looks like the kind of deranged guy who hangs cats.

Paula Deen -- She comes off as that sweet Southern lady. But then she's doing that party-type show. It gets on my nerves.

I like Dave Lieberman. I don't know where his show went, though. He was a cutie.

And Duff and Co. That looks like a fun bunch of people.

Ina Garten. Love love love. Her shows are always so calm and the acting's bad. But the food is always sophisticated.

Oh! What ever happened to that guy who used to host The Secret Life Of...??
He was really good and then got replaced.

Rachel WTF @ making everything in 30 minutes. -.- $40 a day was okay, but her voice still annoys the hell out of me.
Giada I just don't like her and her head is really big. o_o
Paula Her recipes are like.. 50% butter. -.-
Sandra ... Pretty much what JC said. There might as well be a show teaching you how to watch a show.
Emeril Meh, he's just annoying.
Ina I always want to eat the food she makes. I like her.
Alton Brown He entertains me. His jokes are kinda dumb at times, but it's alright.

:)

Me too!. Now Im watching Puck and Morimoto go at it.

Whoa this is my kinda of thread.

Bobby Flay- He's alright to me. He's just kinda obnoxious sometimes and gets on my nerves.

Sandra Lee- I hate this show. It sucks so hard. You can tell she just lovesss to drink because shes like OK!!!!! COCKTAIL TIME! *slurps*

Rachel Ray- I dont get whats not to like? Yeah she is obnoxious and in your face, but shes is yum-o. I like her

Paula- Hey, she's ok with me. Its just really really weird when she makes sexual references on her show paula's party. Paula, you're the mom of the show. Stop it please. (Seriously, I saw her show with Rosie O on it. Scary)

Alton Brown-Probably my favorite or around there favorite male chef. My mom cant stand him, and I love to piss her off and turn it on. Science kinda does rock on his show.

Gialda- HOLY EFFING CRAP. If she was ever near me I would burst on the spot. I love it when she goes to italy or greece or somewhere and the scenary just adds to her exoticness. A+

Emeril- WTF IS SO GREAT ABOUT GAAARHHHLIC?! stfu.

Ina-She is second to Gialda, but not for looks. Idk, I've always liked the way she lives her life. Hamptons, Paris, and great food. Yeah, real homo statement, but shes cool

Id like to add, the next food network star. The judges are really assholes on that show.

@ Rachael Ray: she makes up hella words! Like "yum-o." Who the f**k talks like that? She's 30+, time for her to start using that big girl vocabulary.

@ the Iron Chef: I miss the originals! I was reading this yesterday, it comes on the Fine Living network. But they (well, some episodes, not a lot) are also online at surfthechannel.

I used to like Rachael when she was on 40 dollars a day, and not so big, but now the fame's gone to her head.

I like the old Iron Chefs too. They were really interesting and their stuff didn't look like something I'd never try in a million years.

I like Giada and Nigella Lawson... Their stuff is simple most of the time, but still gourmet-ish.

Sandra Lee's food seems really cheap and kid concocted (sp?). I never understood why Emeril was so entertaining. Like, why clap whenever he adds Essence or whatever?

I really like Morimoto. I saw him on No Reservations, and he's like a REAL chef.

Paula Deen used to be really cool, but she creeps me out whenever she hits on the young guys on her party show.

i think emeril has some of the best recipes/advice, but he's so f**king annoying to watch that i can't take it. he's way way way more annoying on emeril live though. if he would just cook and not spend all his time trying to get the crowd to forcefully laugh at him, then he would be one of my favorites as far as food content.

I think my problem with him is that he tries to make his show too much of a talk show?

Like, who does he think he is with that band? David Letterman?

Just stick to the food, thanks.

Emeril's problem is that he tries too hard to be entertaining. He has a similar problem with "Essence of Emeril" wich is just a straight up cooking show and he doesn't try at all. He comes off as boring.

Reviving because I think at this point that Paula's become a caricature of herself. "HEY Y'ALL!"

And I no longer dislike Gina Neely. She and her husband are such a cute couple. But her accent, like Paula's, makes me laugh.

I like Giada's set, the general atmosphere of her show, and that the food always looks really good. And let's face it, everybody loves Italian food.

Mario Batali annoys me, and this is television...of course I will watch the pretty girl versus the fat, unattractive guy.

Generally I don't feel like she is amazing, but she's definitely good enough to make me want to watch her show. Her personality is good for the television and she really draws you in. I don't think she has many bad qualities for her to be hated on. And most people I talk to that hate Giada generally only point out one thing - her boobs.

And here we go again, when a woman does something wrong, the problem behind it is her boobs, her sexuality, her body, things that are irrelevant to her cooking, her personality, her ability to perform on television. It's to be expected. I feel like she doesn't have the annoying qualities like Rachael Ray does...holy shit I could shoot that woman.

If you've got it, flaunt it. Plus she's not hosting a studio show. It's more of a lifestyle cooking show more than anything; she's inviting her friends over for dinner and whatnot so it's not that strange for her to be dressed up.

You're welcome. laugh.gif

Oh, and this is hilarious:

Gotta admit though, "nice" is way better than "Yum-O!"

i used to like rachel ray but ever since she started her own talk show..i didnt realize how annoying she really is. but i do like watching the 30min meals though haha.

i actually like giada's take on what rachel ray used to do..you know the whole traveling to different places/trying their food..plus shes super pretty!

i used to be ok w/bobby flay, i just think its so funny that everytime i watch throwdown...he gets throwndown in almost all of his challenges and loses. lmao. poor guy.

Anywho...

I wasn't a big fan of Guy Fieri at first, but after watching him on Ultimate Recipe Showdown, I've started to like him. You know who else I like? Michael Psilakis! He's such a hard ass, it's amazing.

Giada is my favorite. out of all the recipes i get off of Foodnetwork i use hers the most. i made her mascarpone cupcakes and they were so good. plus the way they film her show it's so crisp and clean. they really know how to capture what's goin' on in her kitchen, like when they do a close up and you can hear the food crunch under the pressure of her knife. i like that.
i like Sandra Lee's idea of making things semi-homeade. i think it's funny how she's always sippin' on her cocktails. drank in her cup.
Paula Dean is always putting butter in something. it's a bit much for me. she put butter on her hotdog bun before she toasted it once.... i don't dislike her but i'm not fond of her either.
Bobby Flay comes off way too cocky for me so i just don't watch his shows.
i like Alton Brown 'cause good eats is a very informative show. yeah, he's a little odd but it works for him.
Guy Fieri needs to wear sunscreen and dye his hair a darker color. other than that i like him. i want his job so badly.
i don't really watch anyone else's shows. i love Iron Chef though. haven't watched it lately 'cause some weird script shows up whenever i turn to Foodnetwork. sad.gif

From food network I only really watch Good Eats, I really like him. Alton Brown, I believe it is?

^ They've had Asian chefs featured on other people's shows, but I don't think an Asian chef has ever had his own show.

Well, they used to show the original, Japanese Iron Chef and they're all Asian so... But that's my problem with the Food Network: they've got American and Italian food down not much else. They really do need an Asian food show, since I don't know anyone who dislikes Asian food. And I want a vegetarian/vegan show, damn it!

Ever since I saw who was playing Edward from Twilight I have always associated Robert Pattinson with Curtis Stone. *dodges tomatoes*

The only thing that they might have in common is the spikey hair, but that's it.

Weird.

BUT on another note. The Cdn personalities seem like nice genuine folks. I like Janet and Greta Podleski, there's Michael Smith, Anna Olsen, Ricardo, Laura Caulder, Bob Blumer (He seems the most fakest) and then there's the new guy, for Everyday Exotic - Roger!

/End Cdn Rambling.
