The other night I went to a show downtown, and between bands my friend and I got thirsty so we decided to walk down the street a bit to this coffee shop to get something to drink. I went there all the time last year, so I went to open the door and was completely stunned when some guy asked for my ID. Apparently over the summer the place had been bought out and turned into a bar. What the hell??? There's already 50,000 other bars around, that was the absolute last thing we needed. But anyway, I'm really pissed because the place used to be convenient, open late, and pleasantly isolated from the rest of the craziness that goes on down there.

what store/restaurant/etc closings have upset you?

There's a Starbucks close to where I live that's going to be closed soon. It just kinda sucks because that's the only place other than Wal-Mart you can go when you're feeling restless after 10pm. sad.gif

Haha, my dad was upset some paint selling place got closed down today.

For me, I've got to say the original Aritzia store at Metrotown because it was so convenient! Now they've turned that into a TNA (not as awesome) and moved Aritzia across the mall far farrrr away... but I guess it's alright.

I'll come back when I think of a better one.

There was this cute store in town and it had the most amazing kites, toys, and games. Of course i went in there a lot when i was young but even then i would love to go in it in middle school because it was just such a bright place and you could never find these things anywhere else usually.
Anyways i cant remember when but a few years ago they knocked down the whole block which meant that store.
It made me so sad because the closest one was in Macinac Island and i dont make many ferry trips to there.

Anyways the worst part is that the whole block was suppose to be made into this huge condominium suppose to look like This instead its been like this for, im going to guess, the past 2 years.
We call it our swimming pool now...

That picture makes my town look so dreadful, it really is beautiful place and its usually hopping with tourist in the summer. So thats not the bst picture

Milkshake Company (in NY). There's another one somewhere uptown, but I've never felt compelled to find it. The old one was so close and so awesome. It got replaced by BAMN!, this automat food place.

There's a Build-a-Bear at Midtown, though. It's on 46th Street (or somewhere around there) and Fifth Avenue, near the Barnes & Noble. And I'm sure there are more around the city.

When they got rid of Victoria's Secret in the mall, lol. But they eventually brought it back.

There was this 50's themed resturant not too far from where I live and even though their parking lot was full everyday, they closed. I never got to go there, though sad.gif But my brother took a menu from there. They took their theme very seriously.

That reminds me... there used to be a McDonald's on 23rd near 1st Ave (in NYC). When they closed it, I was mad like a motherf**ker, cuz the closest one to that is on 28th and Park, so five blocks uptown and about four crosstown. That's a long ass walk.

But McDonald's in New York deliver for some strange reason, a phenomenon I never got to experience myself.

OH! Another thing that "closed": I became vegetarian last year, right, and I knew from going with a vegetarian friend that McDonald's in New York served veggie burgers. Right? WRONG. I went this past semester because I was drunk-ish and McDonald's was close and they don't carry it anymore! That's almost more infuriating than when a location closes, when they inexplicably stop carrying a certain food that you enjoy.

It doesn't really count as a restaurant but Winn Dixie.

It used to be soo close to me, but now I have to go soo far just to get food.

It sucks living on the nothingness side of town.
