If you're a size XXL, please don't wear size L. Stick to your sizes. Nobody wants to see your man boobs hanging out. If you're a size L, don't wear XS please. stubborn.gif stubborn.gif

Is this a problem with you guys? It bothers me, cuz I saw this really large guy wearing a shirt that obviously was too tight for him. stubborn.gif stubborn.gif I saw his figure too clear, and more than I wanted to.

I agree. It's unsettling to see people's excess body fat bulging from beneath their tank tops or from above their jeans. It's the worst in summertime, when everyone wears more revealing clothes to beat the heat.

I cant stand it. Especially when it hangs out at the bottom like its apart of the shirt. I wanna walk up to them and say "Come on, you can feel the breeze can't you? Or has the fat grown past your nerve endings?"

Girls are like that a lot too, the kinda chubby ones, will buy clothes that can be a bit small for them. Like they should wear a XL, but they're still set on buying medium.

Oh i wasn't just talking about guys. i was talking about EVERY fat person in general

I just don't understand why some people don't wear the size they should. Are they in denial? Do they not own a mirror? I hate seeing stomachs sticking out the bottom of shirts or seeing some really fat person wearing short shorts or tube/halter tops.

My grade 11 math teacher wore shirts/pants that were too tight... she's not exactly FAT, but the bulging muffin top certainly made me think otherwise. =(

I don't know, maybe these people actually think they look good? Who knows what's going through their minds.

People I think are too concerned with the sizes. Girls want so badly to be a "small" or a "size zero" that they'll buy clothes that don't come close to fitting them simply because they refuse to believe they're anything larger. It's sad; they're actually doing more harm than good. If people would wear clothes that fit them properly, the focus wouldn't necessarily be on their weight. This goes for everyone in my opinion, not just people who might be overweight. A lot of medium-sized girls tend to make themselves look trashy by squeezing into clothes that are too tight.

OMG, THANK YOU.

Part of it for girls is the whole vanity-sizing thing, where people like having a smaller size because it makes them feel skinnier. But seriously, I know so many people out there that wear tube tops and doll tops and it just doesn't work. Just, no. -_-

I'm totally agree with you guys, fat people should stick to their sizes because they're going to be a reason to other people to laugh, they have to find the size that goes with their body so they can look right. I’ve seen so many fat people wearing the size their supposed to wear and they look really nice and elegant, people just should know what type of clothing they should pick next time they go shopping.

I don't mean to be rude, because I, myself, am a chubby person. But honestly, if you decide to wear something two sizes too small, it doesn't mean that the rest of the world will see you as two sizes smaller.

I think that when people dress in something that fit them right, it can still be slimming.

I think fatter people look terrible when they try to squeeze themselves into smaller sizes..

but I also think it looks really bad when skinny people wear bigger clothes. like a medium size guy in a XXL shirt .. it just looks sloppy.

How is that mean? Choosing to eat healthy, and exercise and be active is in no ways of being mean. People always say "Stop being mean!" You can't blame them though. I mean it's fat people who chose to live that lifestyle knowing it's unhealthy. (this applies to fat people who aren't genetically fat)

btw you're way hotter than your sister kathleen.

They just need to stop being in denial about their sizes.
If they are really bothered with having to see it everyday, then just cut the labels off.

Even better, if you don't like how your body is, then do something to change it.

I don't get what possses them to wear the things they do. I think the problem is that they lack full length mirrors or something..Or they know they're big so they refuse to look in a mirror so they just go by what people tell them..and you KNOW most of their friends wont say it to their face..

or they're just full of themselves.

Fat people should stick to their sizes.

And I don't know if I'm the only one or not but I can NOT stand it when fat people wear skinny jeans.

I mean, I may sound very mean for saying this but it's disgusting seeing all that fat in those tight jeans.

Maybe you forgot that we're in the FASHION sub-forum? This is NOT a thread to bash on fat people because of their physical size or how they cannot "control" themselves. This thread is about how fat people should "stick to their sizes". Let's not ruin a good topic and get it closed or anything, okay? wink.gif

QUOTE(dhxdezigns @ Aug 29 2008, 09:35 PM) *
I think the problem is that they lack full length mirrors or something

I don't know about you, but I see fat people women try on clothes all the time at clothing stores and they do have full-length mirrors in fitting rooms. Then I see them buy what they try on, even though what they wore was skin-tight on them and did not look good. I know this because I see them walk outside of the fitting room and admire what they're trying on in front of the full-length mirrors that are right outside of the fitting room too. mellow.gif

lol I guess I should stop complaining about how I can't find clothes that fit me. shrug.gif

this kinda isn't related to this topic but...

i have figure drawing class twice a week and we draw nude people and the models are always fat white girls with fat rolls and it really sucks. the girl who usually models though is one of these girls who doesn't wear the right clothes size. but yeah, i'd still rather she kept her too little clothing on as opposed to nothing.

i'm leaving for this class in 20 minutes too. f**k this.

Well, to think it in another way, if those people were like 3-4 sizes smaller before, it's hard to accept the change of being chubbier and buy clothes with a bigger size.

I know this is going to be off-topic, but I also despite those girls wearing one-piece dresses (or more like just long tops) that barely cover their butt and their leg-figure isn't exactly appealing. Stop shoving your legs into my face please.

I saw a girl today wearing really high high heels and really tight jeans. She was walking to her car and had to keep adjusting herself... I don't know why you wear something that you have to keep adjusting to make sure you are comfortable and so that other people can't see too much. No matter what size you are, clothes look better if they fit you right.

If you want to dress up like a doll, wear clothes that are too big/small, dress like a hooker, dress like a clown, dress like a goth, role play, dress like the opposite sex, wear spandex, wear short shorts in the winter, or a sweater during the summer time - I really don't give a shit, and I'm sure the people wearing these things don't give a shit what I think, anyway.

^^ Dresses at an amusement park??? I couldn't do it. But to stay on topic: I was in borders and this girl came into the manga section(where I was w/ a friend) and she was BIG & pale and wearing a really short plaid skirt w/ black socks, army boots, & a corset. I was talking to my friend & as she came into my line of vision I trailed off to stare incredulously. My friend & I were like blink.gif omg.gif

Hmm, I wonder if being big meant you were beautiful, would we have just as much negative remarks as this. I am concerned for people who are obese, and a growing epidemic of overweight people that should put there focus on being healthy. However, I think the media and society put too much emphasis what "IS" beautiful... the EUROPEAN look. Back in the early 1900's, women were large, and they were considered beautiful because it showed a sign of wealth and power. People were obviously being raised in poverty, and people who looked well fed were being showed royalty. I don't want to be skinny, I want to be HEALTHY. And unfortunately, if there was a girl who looked "normal" she would still be considered fat to the network industry.

^ These people aren't talking about being big in general. They're talking about squeezing big into a small. You don't see people from the early 1900s with their love handles spilling out from the sides.

Actually, you'll see some girls with tight gowns with there flabs hanging out back in the 1900's. It has everything to do with that. I mean, Im stating that what if being big was trendy, and you would be well liked for being a "big person". Seeing someone big in small clothing doesn't irritate you, its the fact that they are just BIG! Being big is disgusting to you, its grotesque, people see it as a disease. I seen a guy tell a girl she was fat, and she grew hysterically worried. And she was thin.

I can't speak for the others, but I personally have no problem with big people. Hell, I'm pretty fat myself (and I have been chubby all my life). I have friends that are on the heavier side, and even a few considered 'obese', but I am in no way disgusted by them because they don't wear clothes three sizes too small.

And I guess I can see why you're upset. I mean, I was a bit appalled when I first saw this topic... but did you take the time to read the posts? These people aren't criticizing these fatter people's health (? for the lack of a better word), but their sense of fashion! Hence the sub-forum this thread is posted in.

No, Im not upset at all. I just think that people should start thinking outside the box.

I did read most of the post, and I have to say it was like peeling an onion. There has to be more of a significant reason why people feel this way, and I have to say it's because were so biased when it comes to weight. Theres been countless studies where people gratify others who are the more attractive, the more beautiful, the more less fat.....

When I see big people wear things too small, it doesn't bother me one bit. I feel comfortable with my body and with others. It's like when I see a super skinny girl on the runaway, and she really looks like she's on the verge of suicide from bulimia, but the people filming her, photographing her thought it was normal for a female to be that thin. Why don't people bash on that? its just as horrible! I think it's time to stop criticizing "fat" people, and start helping them. Were belittling them, and we all know that's never helped anyone. Instead of "you look gross, thats disgusting I see your fat" we should be more supported of weight loss programs. No one has to agree with me, its just my opinion, but I have ow friends, and I have helped them this way.

How about you re-read the topic over again, and be more open minded, and don't get so upset that this topic talks about fat people. We ain't dissing fat people, and how they aren't beautiful. We are discussing how fat people in general should stick to their true size, instead of wearing something that is obviously too small for them to fit, but yet they try to squeeze in it anyways.

The same could be said for an "average" person. If you're a size Medium, please don't wear size Extra Small. It's the same concept. But I'm targeting fat people in this topic, because I see alot more fat people wearing clothes that are way too small for them.

Yeah, it is kind of strange that a grown woman would dress up like a little girl, but whatever works, I guess.

I'm more a fan of clothes mimicking the Victorian era, just not so little-girl/dollish.

^ Still, the part about the models is a little defensive.
It's what a lot of fat people use as a counterattack during a discussion on a topic similar to this.

We can shove weight loss programs down their throats until they're blue in the face, but if they still don't want to do it, then there's nothing we can do.

I think--for the most part--the posts here deal more with size denials, not fatness. That in itself is unhealthy behavior.

I hate seeing even medium sized girls squeeze into size 2 clothes when they're a size 6. I was shopping once and I saw this girl who was very pear shaped and she had on the shortest possible shorts and the cellulite was everywhereeeee. It's so gross!

Also, I know fat women can't help if they have huge boobs, but seriously, keep them in your shirt. It's disgusting looking around and seeing two huge boobs staring in your face. Skinny people should put theirs away too.

I went to Six Flags last weekend and I was walking behind this girl and me and my friend were like "why did anyone allow her outside looking like this?!"

She's not especially fat, she's just got too much squeezed into that outfit.

yeah, it's definitely gross. that's why they make bigger sizes to accomodate bigger people. there's nothing wrong with having a bit (stress A BIT) more to love, but no one wants to see rolls and it's not flattering for themselves. but some people have really warped views of themself.

lol no I don't have a muffin top, I meant muffin tops in general are EW! More that I feel self-conscious in case anything's hanging out when wearing skin-tight clothes. I think people should be more self-conscious when wearing skin tight clothes. :P BTW were those Christian Louboutins that you were wearing in a picture one time your signature? eyebrowes.gif THOSE ARE SOME SEXY LEGS YOU GOT.

I don't mean to be rude, because I, myself, am a chubby person. But honestly, if you decide to wear something two sizes too small, it doesn't mean that the rest of the world will see you as two sizes smaller.

I think that when people dress in something that fit them right, it can still be slimming.
