So, my birthday is in a month and my boyfriend got us a house.
We are only renting, but it's a really nice house with 3 bedrooms, a dining room, and off road parking. It's also only a few blocks from my mom's house, which is really important to me.
The landlord gave us full permisson to decorate the house however we want, even after we warned him that when we move out the walls might be covered with tattoo flash and paintings of zombies killing people (I've always wanted a zombie mural in my bedroom).
We had been looking for so long and he found me the perfect house. biggrin.gif

What's the best gift you have ever recieved?

I'm glad that you finally found a place. I remember that you guys had been looking for a while.

I know it sounds cheesey, but one of the most sentimental things I have is the last birthday card that I got from my grandfather before he died. He wrote me a little message in it and gave me $20 in smaller bills. I haven't been able to spend the money. Him and I were really close, and even though he couldn't go get me a gift (he said he didn't want to send someone to just pick something out for me) it's still something I treasure.

Aw.
Reading that gave me chills.

I'm really sorry about your grandfather. I still have my dad's lucky rock. I know it sounds dumb, but I swear it really is lucky. Whenever I have it with me I kind of feel like he is still with me too.

That's awesome! Congrats on the house. _smile.gif

I get pretty emotional when someone gives me anything, LOL. Today I got two tshirts for my birthday, and I totally wasn't expecting it so I was extremely touched by the gesture.

Recently I think the most thoughtful thing that's happened was when I built a website (for free) for the band sorority at my college. The girls all pitched in and bought me an iTunes gift card, and gave me a thank you card signed by all of them. It was nice of them to show their appreciation like that, it made me feel like it meant something to them.

I do remember a certain CB birthday topic bringing tears once, but that was a long time ago and I fully realize I sound like a nerd for saying it, LOL. *sigh* laugh.gif

My daddy bought me a 'puter -- black MacBook. It wasn't for an occasion (i.e. Christmas, my birthday, etc) but it was really expensive, so it felt like one.

Also, another gift he gave me that wasn't for an occasion: he paid for my college education out of pocket. I went to NYU.

Aww, lucky you! I've never gotten anything that nice for a gift. But my ex boyfriend did write me a notebook that contained 23 pages (23 was the day we first started dating) and included pictures of us and basically pulled a "The Notebook". Theres never a dry eye in my...eye whenever I read it. sad.gif
