For those of you who don't know, the final book of the Harry Potter series will be split into two movies: a part one and a part two.

it's good because there's more before it's done for good. it's not good cause we have to watch half the thing and then wait like two years or something for the next one.

I all ready knew that like four or five months ago. But thanks for the happy reminder that it will still be going strong for at least one more year than most people expected.

^ I don't think it's scheduled to be that big a gap, is it?

I'm pretty much thrilled over this idea, and I want the final battle to be EPIC. EPIC, I SAY.

^ I second that! f**k, if it's not epic, my whole HP obsession will be greatly tested.

Some people say they're trying to milk as much money out of HP as possible for as long as possible...even though that may be true, I don't care. They could make 3 movies and I would be even happier!

And I don't really mind a 3 year gap because I already know what happens, it's not like they'll change anything major in the plot.

I third that. I swear if I dont see the trio doing some f**king damage Ill damage the theater.
/edit. Hell, the whole cast. Trelawny dropping balls, and McGonagall going nuts. OH OH and the three teachers going against another. THAT TOO. MY FAVORITE. ( yeah I love fighting, esp between teachers!)

ZOMG THEY HAD BETTER INCLUDE THE MRS. WEASLEY LINE.

Otherwise I will be forced to insert it myself, and scream it repeatedly during the screening, to what I imagine will be the distress of the other cinema-goers.

And to be fair, even if it is an attempt to milk money, I don't really care, providing I'm satisfied with the product.

OMG totally. And you know, if you did scream it repeatedly, I don't think the other people watching the movie would mind. If I was there with you, I'd join in with you XD.

"NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!"

Just to refresh my memory...oh geez. Single best line EVER. Julie Walters would totally ROCK that shit out!

It should be like the Rocky Horror Picture Show, people should dress in robes and throw popcorn (err...Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans?) at the screen and scream that over and over again.

hey hey, at least we all know what happens and how it all ends. no more anticipation there.

but they definitely did the right move, i think, in making two parts because the past couple of movies had some extra scenes and hollywood-ish stuff that made no sense whatsoever. i just hope they will be sticking straight to the books and it will be awesomeee =)

Yeah it will definitely appeal to the readers because I know that it's always an issue because it's such a long book and they want everything in it.

Ha ha I will probably be one of those parents forcing there kids to read it. But it is still not the same because there will be no more new Harry Potter adventures.

By the way who else is going to get The Tales of Beedle the Bard I know I am!

ZOMG, the weekend before it comes out, our charity committee has now officially planned to send us all to some random city dressed in HP costumes to raise money for the day. I am geekishly thrilled. Oh, except thats for HBP, which is the other thread, I realize now, but still.

Also, I am TOTALLY going to bully people into dressing up for these.

i saw th poster last weekend and i was only excited to see an approximate premiere date (2010 & 2011). i started to lose faith in the movies after seeing HPatHBP so it's hard for me to be as excited as i once was. which sucks because the books make the adventure so amazing and the movies are just dragging it down. don't know if that made sense.

There's a new trailer for Part 1 released today from IMDB. Does anyone recognise who's narrating the trailer? I'm clueless.

Also an awesome LITERAL trailer I found on YouTube the other day. You will definitely laugh at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MahTKZDHXaA laugh.gif Pure awesomeness.

I think its a great idea. There are alot of movies that try to cram the story into one sitting and they end up leaving out key events. I think its going to be great. I've been waiting for this movie for a long time!

Prisoner of Azkaban, and Goblet of Fire are my favorites. Didn't really like Chamber of Secrets or Order of the Phoenix. I wish they'd show more classroom stuff. Now all it is is them out fighting Voldermort.

I'm sort of excited for this movie. I didn't like the last book very much, but I still enjoyed parts of it, and the movie looks really well done.

For anybody interested select AMC theaters are having a marathon of the fifth and sixth movie, on the night it premieres, starting at 6 PM., and then you can catch Pt. 1 at midnight.

Helena Bonham Carter was amazing on screen for a character that doesn't get that much on screen time.

She was though. She plays Bellatrix so well.

The moment she came on as Bellatrix, me and my friend said simultaneously: "She is so amazing." Probably the best casting in the HP movies.

rons a fattie lolol but the movie was pretty good, there was an animation for the telling of the deathly hollows that really stuck out for me and i felt it was done really well. i'd say best potter movie so far

also i think emma watson is pretty boring when it comes to "hot" but she is indeed > than helena bonham carter but i'd still vote for helena. i feel like she has distinguishing features and whatever look shes got going on seems real and attractive... not to mention a fine actress. helena > emma overall, but emma has nice legs and could maybe model if she were taller. shame

^LOL

I thought it was really strange seeing an HP movie in theaters when it's not completely crowded. I was a little confused.

i know right?! i thought it was because i waited until the weekend to see it. oh well. i loved it. i'm glad they focused more on the important parts of the story than all the little side stuff. i'm still disappointed to not see more into voldermort's history. i can barely wait to see part deux.

I saw it the day after and it wasn't even crowded. I'm thinking maybe not all of the people in the area are HP fans? shrug.gif

I KNOW. I was so disappointed how they didn't put the most important parts of Voldemort's past into the sixth film.

maybe so. that is my first time seeing a harry potter movie at the location i went to. but i got to have butter beer (and it was actually good) while i watched the movie.

i was so interested in his mother's story aka how tom riddle came to exist. that would've made for a great viewing experience.
