As opposed to this -

I'm going to buy a laptop today to get myself out of this damn funk I seem to be in.

Any other hormone/emotional catalyst type shoppers out there? haha

No worries. Although the videos are more supplemental than a necessity. I'm a visual person and those videos sort of act as a quasi visualization of what I'm sort of feeling/thinking. haha

Oh to explain that (and answer the laptop question), my son is out of town and I'm feeling some cabin fever. I'm also on my period (lol) so there's overactive hormones to spare. The whole "I've gotta get out of here" from Airplane sequence popped in my head, hence the video. xD

I bought a cheapie. My budget (LOLWHATBUDGET?) is minimal, but needed a new, smaller laptop with wifi with decent specs because I have decided to go back to school part time in the fall.

It's an Acer (I know, don't make fun). 160 gig hd space, 2 gig of memory. An ok vid card (at least it isn't an accelerator). It has Vista, which is making me sad, but I think I might be able to bring it in to work and see if a friend can't help me out with it. Overall, it's not terrible for my immediate needs. Next spring, I'm going to get something MUCH better with my tax returns, but for now this will do.

Oh rebs I am a big hormone shopper. Whenever I am feeling down, I go and buy something expensive and new to make me feel better.

Ugh, I totally buy stuff to make myself feel better... Went on a DVD spree yesterday to make myself feel better about going back to work. Thus helpfully negating the point of earning money.

Sometimes I buy things I don't need. But for the most part, I'm a window shopper. I hate it when I have extra money and plan on buying things and after an entire day only have one little thing that I've bought.

I never buy things to make myself better. I just listen to music or distract myself in other ways.
