I was responding to this thread, and I thought about it.

It's been a rather complicated time lately. Nothing catastrophic, but there seems to be an overall tone of disappointment, some sadness, definitely stress, I guess the list could go on. I'm not a self pitying type, at all. If anything, I'm more of a fighter.

I'm getting the motivation to do the things I need to do today, but I know that right now, it's because I have to, not because I want to.

Does anyone else just go through periods of time when it just feels better to not do anything at all? Like you're just too mentally and emotionally exhausted to do anything but sit and either stare at the walls, the computer screen or a tv screen? When every little thing feels like this huge, monumental effort?

awe! poor Rebs. hug.gif
but yes, i know what you're talking about. it usually starts with not doing little things like cleaning up a bit, then moves on to delaying chores, then it gets in the way of designing and such. then it just takes over everything.

Yes!

Sometimes I can just sit somewhere staring out into the space, running through the list of things that need to be done, but not do anything about it. It can go on for an hour sometimes, it's pretty bad. =/

Yes, definitely. It's terrible, and it only happens during the school year, when I know I need to do homework or a project but I just can't.

Yeah, it's really odd how I can just crash into a state of supreme laziness. I have actually been sitting in more or less the same place for like, 5 hours now, doing f**k all except gettingsquare eyes from the computer screen. It's upsetting.

Well, I mean, you're all a positive delight to talk to, and all, but really, I have shit I could be doing.

UGH LIKE CALLING WORK WHICH I HAVE JUST REALIZED I HAVE NOT DONE AND IT IS NOW TOO LATE.

Bugger.

Yes!

I have been doing that since January. I have just grown some comfortable being lazy, that I have no motivation to do anything to make myself, or my situation better. I have even stopped my training to be a firefighter. I made a vow to myself, that I would start to turn things around this week, by first getting my cell turned back on after being off for over a month.

No. Time doesn't wait for me. July 13, 2008 has finally arrived and will soon be gone forever. The day that “good enough” becomes good enough is the day I no longer matter. The world mutates us into drones and automatons who cannot feel. I'm thankful for the beast in my belly. When that fire goes out, life is over.

Awe, Rebs, I feel ya hug.gif

I must say, though, that lately I've really been wanting to do more. When I was going through treatment and all that jazz before surgery, I felt like crap. Oddly enough, last year was my best year attendence wise.

Mostly, it's the trivial things that I have to kick myself in the butt to do.
