MMORPGs are Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games. Examples of this would be Everquest, Runescape, Final Fantasy XI, et cetera.

I personally think they are retarded and a waste of time. They also take away a person's social life.

i agree. Spend your life in front of your ps2 because you want your character to level up! Honestly, I think it would be better if you didn't have to pay to get a subscription to one of these. Then you wouldn't have to play so much in order to get the most for your money.

Asherons Call (Original). Was prob the best MMORPG I ever played. I lived that game. It was my life at one point. Final Fantasy XI was pretty good to. Can't wait to play Lineage and Everquest II.

I don't know how people get sucked in to paying the monthly fees for online gaming. It's ridiculous. Pay $100 (in FFXI's case) to buy the game, then spend $15 more a month to play it! Insane!

Not all of them have monthly fees. Infact many very good ones you can find/play for free. Take Neverwinter Knights for example.

MMORPGs comsume your social life!!! stay back! u have been warned! :D

i love online games, its the interaction with real people via vitural characters, and yes, lvling!! but yeah, i used to play this one game called "Tibia", and man, my friends and I were addicted soo bad, like the community itself was crazy, so much drama, but come on, its only a game, but yeah it can get to you

there was this guild description that said "we traded our real lives for a second chance on tibia". har har har. i also play Ragnarok Online the same time i played tibia. i still play RO to this day, but i digress.

you can play games and not ruin ur social life, takes dicipline, but i guess some people become consumed into the virtual world, but wouln't any videogame or hobby do this to you also? if you chose to dedicate yourself to something, u also chose to take those risks that come with it. thats my opinion :D

MMORPGs are very addictive to some people. I played one or two of them, the ones the were free but I got bored of them eventually. It's true that it takes a person's social life away, spending hours upon hours without noticing the time fly by.

So I say NO to MMORPGs unless you can handle it.

But that's exactly what some people want. :p

Yay for mmorgs. I don't play, but hey, it provides entertainment for people. Let them waste their time; it's their choice.

Are those thing really addictive? I mean people are in control of their lives and for them to jam up on games is just a waste. SO It's not the game's fault. Some people just can't perk up and do something else..So I really can't say yes or no.
