I know none of you will care what I am about to say, but I am going to say it anyways....

It annoys me when people have innaproprite sigs and the F word as their username.

With this many mods, I thought someone would do something about it...

Actually, I totally understand where you're coming from.

I personally don't mind them, but as an ex-mod I'd think all this sort of ish woulda been straight busted. Especially bash topics.

Anyway I'm not naming names 'cause snitchin's wack, but I really gotta wonder wtf is the staff doing to keep the community alive these days? (Some of you guys are all good though, you know who you are.)

We have discussed this Backstage, but we can't force people to remove or change their signatures if the people in them don't have any inappropriate parts exposed. If too many signatures bother you, go to My Controls > Board Settings > turn off members' signatures. :\

Also, only Head Staff and Administrators have the power to edit members' avatars and signatures, and only Administrators Jusun (micron) can change usernames.

^Also, unfortunately changing usernames is a no-go for us as well. Only Jusun can reset a user's "change date" so they can change their username, and Sean just happened to decide to try to push his limits that day. If there was something we could do about it, we certainly would have by now.

I honestly think that from now on if anyone has a signature that I would be ashamed of at work or school (like if someone looks over my shoulder and sees it), it should be removed. I'm getting tired of seeing it, too, and I can't adblock anything here because there's no telling what the link might get changed to.

I am glad to see that there are people who agree with me.

I have to close the forums everything my mom walks by because I don't want her to see any of the smut in the sigs.

what is considered pg-13 is irrelevent. there are different levels of propriety everywhere. just like how some people don't mind watching movies that include sexual content with their parents, while others wouldn't even stay in the same room.

i personally have hidden all the sigs due to the recent incidents, mainly 'cause a lot of the .gifs are bothersome to the eye when trying to read ;o. however, it's true that i wouldn't want my family seeing me looking at this forum either.

hmm... I didn't really want to make a topic because I didn't want to sound like a troll or a complainer. lol guess I didn't have a choice.

Anyways... I guess I am just going to have to turn off sigs. It stinks that I have to do this just because a few people cross the line. well whatever

But would someone please censor that username? I can't even leave the forums open because his username is everywhere... shifty.gif

And I don't know about you, but I don't like it when people tell me to shut the F up...

I have to say I agree with every word. I just chalk it up to maturity. Some people just aren't mature enough, and the only person it hurts is themselves. They make the choice to make their username explicint or put rather nasty things in their signature.

I'm not a prude, I just have the class to know what is and isn't mature in certain places.

I'm okay with usernames and signatures. They don't bother me too much. If I'm at work, I'm usually not signed in anyways, and I'll just sign in to post and then log off right afterward. If you're not signed in, you can't see signatures.

^Unfortunately I can't leave signatures off all the time. I have to go in and turn them off every time I'm at school or work (which is 90% of the time I'm able to get on CB these days) and then remember to turn them back on when I'm at home.

I agree that sometimes there are some "tasteless" things in the signatures. But there are also some pretty tasteless remarks made in the actual posts. Most of it can be attributed to the maturity level around here.

I've been using CB for a very very long time now. Never really been a member of the forums, but I've used the resources a lot. I remember back when I first started coming here how it was more of a resource community, with a community. Now it is a community, with a resource section. People can't even ask honest questions in the resource forums without having at least one person making a snide remark. Of course there are going be be "stupid" questions, and annoying people. There are always going to be. That is just a part of life. How many new members have left recently because of remarks made to them by senior members? How many people join, and never post because they see the treatment other people get?

Basically, CB needs a facelift all around. Not just in the signatures.

What resources would she need in reading the forums?
Are there not tutorials/graphic help?

Then she would need to register to ask for a question specifically in the forums.

you don't need to register to read the resource forums for help. i'm just saying that i highly doubt she is actually calling two months a long time since after she said she had being using it a long time she pointed out that it wasn't as a member. so i dont think you should discredit her opinion based on a register date is all i'm saying.

i don't agree that creatblog is more of a community than a resource center. i mean i don't see how it could be. the majority of the visits cb gets are for it's resources, not it's forum community. right?

i still think the resource aspect of cb dominates, and always will.

The resource center definitely is the main thing which drives members in. However, if you look at the active users, there are very few who come and post regularly (and exclusively) in the resource center. There are by far more who only post in the community center and don't touch the resource forums, and don't use the layouts either.

Kryo, I know you're perfectly capable of resizing your own signatures, and you've been here for long enough to know how to follow the rules. If your signature was edited out and you lost the link, then I apologize; there's nothing we can do for you. sad.gif

I removed it, but I know you can go find something else to put in your signature. It isn't my job to resize it for you and it's not my job to make sure that you save it your computer. Sorry, but there isn't anything I can do. I asked you nicely to resize it. If you couldn't, I'm sure you know someone who could have.

There are by far more who only post in the community center and don't touch the resource forums, and don't use the layouts either.

Blame facebook. That's probably why I gave up trying to find a layout for my myspace and/or xanga.

I had a really sweet signature.
It was some John John Jesse art and it was removed because it wasn't pg-13. I didn't see what was so wrong with it, though.
I mean you have real videos of girls bouncing their tits and moaning and shit but AMAZING art is worse than that?
I think if we are going to crack down on signatures we should do it all around.

As I have already said, I gave you enough time that you could've asked someone else to do it for you. I am not going to resize signatures, because it's unfair to other members. If I went around resizing your signature, I would be expected to do it for all the other members. And the rest of the staff aren't going to do it either. I gave you ample time to either find a different signature or find someone to help you resize your signature. Either way, I doubt you would have kept your signature for a long enough time to make any of this complaining worth it.

DAMNIT YOU SON OF A SHIT, WHENEVER I TRIED ASKING SOMEONE TO RESIZE MY SIG, THEY WOULDN'T BECAUSE I WAS TOO ANGRY AT THEM.

YOU COULD HAVE JUST REMOVED THE SIG, THE ATTITUDE AND WARNING WAS COMPLETELY UNECCESSARY, AND NOW YOU WILL BE PUNISHED.

I agree with you. Unfortunately, the ones making the snide remarks also agree with you but have their own ideas about the direction CB needs to go.

Here is the thing though. I don't think attitudes like that should be tolerated. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in particular, just in general there are some really horrible attitudes on here. This forum probably has more people with sticks up there asses at any given time than any other forum I have ever been on. CB might not necessarily need any new members, or people to use the resources, or use the layouts, graphics, scripts, tutorials etc etc, but that doesn't mean that people should be allowed to be jerks to one another, or any innocent n00b who dares to ask a stupid question. Instead of posting the simple answer and being thankful it was an easy solution, they have to post the answer, make sure they know it wasn't that difficult/get annoyed when the op doesn't immediately understand, and then joke about it with their other buddies.

Basically, I think the powers that be could do more. I know they have real lives as well, and I completely understand that. I'm active in several other things online as well as popping in here now and then, in addition to "real life". This site certainly isn't my priority, but it is something I like to be a part of. The problem is for every constructive topic/post I read there are at least five more that are completely pointless/uncalled for. When I come online to a website where people have enough braincells to build websites, and awesome looking graphics, I also expect them be able to construct real conversations.

(And FYI, yeah I've been around longer than just two months. Just haven't been a registered member. I believe I had another username a little while ago, something along the lines of estrella, but even that doesn't reflect how long I've been using CB. I got a Xanga in 2002, and I started using CB sometime after that.)

This is the reason I didn't even want to make this topic. People bash other people and call names and act like a bunch of middle schoolers.

I think I am only going to use the forums now for the resource section. I am tired of being told to f--- off or shut up. I have met a few really nice people here, but the magority of you aren't very friendly.

There, I have said my bit. Hate me.

I agree; it's the main reason why, for the most part, I stay out of the CC and keep to the RC.

But back to the subject of signatures.

Although the ability to turn off signatures is handy, there are only a few people who have inappropriate sigs. A lot of people have really cool sigs or funny .gifs, which I like looking at, and so far the number of appropriate sigs far outnumbers the inappropriate ones, so I haven't seen the need to turn off sigs. Yet. It is a pain when my parents walk by, though; I have to go to another tab/window <_< Prudish parents.

Seriously? I think you guys need to get over it.

The rules say that this forum is PG-13. There are tons and tons of PG-13 movies that are far worse than the signatures here. If the sigs go out of the PG-13 range, they're removed. I don't understand the problem.

If you feel like PG-13 is too much for you to handle, just leave. If you don't want to leave, you'll need to compromise. Everybody has his or her right to be annoying and have a sig that might annoy you. Instead of trying to change everyone else, you can either ignore them, or turn off sigs.

Once again, I don't get why this is such an issue.

Oh, oh, oh

No matter what you say about love
I keep coming back for more
Keep my hand in the fire
Sooner or later, I'll get what I'm asking for

No matter what you say about life
I learn every time I bleed
That truth is a stranger
Soul is in danger, I gotta let my spirit be free

To admit that I'm wrong
And then change my mind
Sorry but I have to move on
And leave you behind

[Chorus]
I can't waste time so give it a moment
I realize, nothing's broken
No need to worry 'bout everything I've done
Live every second like it was my last one
Don't look back at a new direction
I loved you once, needed protection
You're still a part of everything I do
You're on my heart just like a tattoo

(Just like a tattoo, I'll always have you
I'll always have you, I'll always have you)

I'm sick of playing all of these games
It's not about taking sides
When I looked in the mirror, didn't deliver
It hurt enough to think that I could

Stop, admit that I'm wrong
And then change my mind
Sorry but I gotta be strong
And leave you behind

[Chorus]

(Just like a tattoo, I'll always have you
I'll always have you)

[Bridge]
If I live every moment
Won't change any moment
Still a part of me and you
I will never regret you
Still the memory of you
Marks everything i do

[Chorus x2]

Just like a tattoo
I'll always have you

My dad has actually handed me a copy FHM and said "Check this shit out."
Anyone who is bitchy enough to complain about a little bit of cleavage really needs to see some of the crap on the darker sides of the internet. Do I need to post links to tubgirl? Or perhaps Goatse?

There is always more f**ked up shit than what you just saw. No matter what it is.

Honestly, is this solved yet?

I haven't seen any inappropriate signatures in a while, and I don't see anyone really complaining about them now. If you have something else to say that isn't about signatures please feel free to make another topic.

Dude, none of the crap you posted is even PG-13. Maybe FHM (magazine), but wtf does a magazine have to do with this? rolleyes.gif How about you NOT post those links, although you mentioning them shows that you perhaps have a fetish for it? HMMM?!
