Read this article.
Not only are these girls not ready to be parents, they want to be parents for all the wrong reasons.
When my best friend found out she was pregnant, I didn't tell her I'd get pregnant too, I offered to aid her in raising her beautiful baby girl.

Another thing that makes me angry is the comments blaming the school for having a day care. Just because someone is a teen parent doesn't mean they don't deserve an education. I went to an alternative school where they offered day care and parenting classes for underage parents. I don't think that encourages kids to get pregnant, but it helps them, because accidents do happen.

Your opinions?

It's just strange, although I can understand why these girls would do it, because I've read enough about teenage girls wanting children just so they could receive unconditional love from someone. But it's still not a wise decision to make. I would never make a pregnancy pact.

I agree with you that it's good for schools to have day care centers. In case a girl is impregnated accidentally or against her will and she decides she wants to keep it, she shouldn't have to drop out of school to take care of it.

^Exactly.
I agree that young girls shouldn't be having babies, but they shouldn't be outcasted from society becasue they do.
Not only does not giving them a chance to recieve an education hurt the girl, it hurts her baby. Who are we to judge who deserves an education and who doesn't.

Also, I knew a lot of girls that wanted babies just to love them and be loved by them. I talked some girls into waiting, but a majority of them went ahead and got knocked up. I don't think any of them regret it, they just wish they would have waited a little longer.

Agree.

Is it possible that this school, and others like it, encourage teens to have children by lessening the consequences?
I don't think so. I think it's just that the school is filled with highly unintelligent prebuscent teens who enjoy fornication. thumbsup.gif Kudos to their futures.

I heard them talking about this on the news today. (Right after a story about an 8th grade girl who drowned her baby. Strange.)

I think, if it was a pact, that they should've thought it through a bit more. Do they realize that this is for the rest of their lives. It's not a pact that they're going to look back on their high school years and be able to joke about or say how naive they were.

They've since insisted that there was no pact, that they coincidentally got pregnant, and just wanted to help each other. But accidentally by a 24 year old homeless guy? yeah...more likely some of them had made a pact, and the girl who was quoted making these comments was just not included in it, but found herself knocked up and included anyway.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure stupidity is to blame.
