I always have to have it boiled. I don't know, I'm just a little iffy about drinking straight tap water, especially after that whole dirty water fiasco here.

Never. Not that it tastes any different. My mom has trained me to filter and boil my water before I drink it.

Yeah, I do, I like the taste better than when it's been through a filter. Although, I have started using the filter sinc eI've been back for summer, simply because I like the water at school better.

When my best friend and I were younger, we used to fill our tea cups with tap water and pretend it was tea. We drank it like nothing. Until one day, my mother told us to stop because it was bad for us.

tap water is like last resort. if there is no soda, no milk, bottled water, or juicy juice, and i'm really about to just die 4rm lack of liquids...then i'll drink tap water. but otha then that? no. i mean i was brought up on it, but it's something about that taste that just freaks me out.

I live in Vancouver. And our tap water tastes good, no weird taste at all. It's just a paranoid thing.
Here's my scale in terms of water (1 is poor, 10 is good) Canadian bottled water - 10 Canadian boiled, filtered water I drink at home - 10 Canadian tap water - 9 Hong Kong tap water - 6 Hong Kong bottled water - 9 Hong Kong boiled and filtered water - 7 Cuban tap water - 1, don't drink it, or prepare to take a lot of pills Cuban bottled water - 4 Cuban carbonated bottled water - 6. It's only 2 points better because the carbonated-ness masks the taste a bit. Moral: if you're going to Cuba, drink their canned pop. |

People go to Cuba? I thought it was pretty much closed to outside contact. But maybe that is just for those of us in the US?

I mean when you take a shower, your body basically absorbs some of water. And I only drink bottled. I live in West Virginia, do the math. |

^ I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be lethal if I drank it, but I would get bad stomachaches...and the bacteria can only affect your digestive tract if you ingest it. You're not likely to "absorb" the bacteria through your skin.
Also, I drank a few cold drinks there, with ice, so I dunno what was up with that, but I didn't get any stomachaches. However, my friend who insisted that she would brush her teeth with the Cuban tap water got stomachaches. Stupid girl. People go to Cuba? I thought it was pretty much closed to outside contact. But maybe that is just for those of us in the US? Sorry, sometimes I forget. But say you want to take a cheap vacation to somewhere awesome, and you decide to get to there via Canada...then that's the advice you should take. |

^^Ok got it. For a second there I thought maybe Cuba had opened up to everyone.
A pretty good rule of thumb is if you're in Mexico, the Caribbean, South or Central America, or just your average third world country, drink bottled water only. And no ice. As for me, I usually just drink whatever happens to be available. We did a project in school and found out that bottled water is usually just as bad for you if not worse than tap water. |

You know I don't remember. We did this in 7th grade and I'm now 20....so a lot has happened between then and now. lol I think it just had something to do with the chemicals, and how bottled water is usually marketed as "Spring Water" which could mean a variety of things.

We're running a home RO water filtering system we bought at Costco a few years back, I guess that counts as drinking tap water?
