Well, my boyfriend and I decided we wanted to have sex and I've taken all the necessary precautions and whatnot. I've gotten birth control, condoms, but I'm still a little bit nervous! Even though the chances of pregnancy for us using both contraceptions is about .5%; also, we're not worried about STDs because we're both virgins, I'm still just a bit nerve-wracked, even with my boyfriend's support.

Anyone ever felt this way and could help me feel just a little less nervous?

its natural to feel this way for the first time with a boyfriend. if you're too nervous though it may not go so well!
try to just not worry about it, and if it happens, it happens _smile.gif

It's definitely understandable why you're feeling nervous, so don't feel bad about that. Remember that since you two actually talked it out and agreed to do this, he must love and care about you, and will try not to hurt you. You won't be so nervous if you decide to do it a next time. It's a learning experience. x)

don't sweat it! the more you stress about it the more nervous you will be & then you won't enjoy it as much(if it happens). just relax & if it happens, then it happens.

I agree with everyone else. Just calm down. He's probably feeling the same way you are.

Spermicide.

And make sure he knows how to actually put on a condom correctly, since hes a virgin and all.

Maybe give him a diagram.

Anyway, its completely normal to feel nervous your first time. Just be glad about it and you'll be fine.

PS: Always worry about STDs. You don't have to have sex to get some of them. Hepatitis and HIV can be from coming in contact with blood. Although rare, you can get herpes from birth. If the mother has herpes it can be spread to the child, because of where the kid comes out.

Sorry if that scares you lol.

Well we've both been tested for it in physicals etc. We also always have this subject on hand so that's why I said I wasn't worried tongue.gif

Thanks guys, I'm not really nervous about the sex part (we've done lots of other things), just nervous about getting pregnant, but it seems okay now :)

There's an extremely, extremely small chance you'll get pregnant with the precautions you're taking. Of course, there have been cases where people have gotten pregnant using both the pill and condoms, but those are rare 1/100,000 chances.

I was nervous about getting pregnant the first couple of times too. There's not much I can say besides try not to let it get to you -- just relax and try not to worry too much about getting pregnant. It probably won't happen, to be honest. Good luck. :)
