I was just browsing CB when I saw XTC's username. When I read it previously, I saw 'Ex Tea See' - not ecstasy as I do now I've sounded it out.

Anyone else had one of these mini-revelations about something mundane?

Yeah. I was reading Archie comics when I was a kid, and Jughead says "sonofagun" a lot. I used to literally read that as "soh-NOH-fuh-gun", thinking it was some weird American slang. Then I realized it was actually "son of a gun".

Or, when I reaized that the first letter of the Disney logo is actually a "D".

Or when I figured out the first letter of the Hudson Bay Company (the Bay) logo was B. rolleyes.gif haha, took me so long to figure that one out.

When i was younger, like 4, i used to have a speach problem and i couldn't read that much, i just knew words by the way they looked, and well i used to think that the show "All That" was called "All Bat"

That too! I just thought those were squiggly lines for the longest time. I didn't mention it though because I figured no one would know what The Bay was. Thank goodness for you, Steph!

^ Haha!

I remember when I really little and my older brother said "screw that" about something. I didn't know what it meant, so I asked my parents. I won't forget it, because my dad was pissed and thought that I said "screw that" about something. Apparently he wasn't paying attention, and I got punished for it.

The White Sox's logo actually spelled Sox, I thought it was some weird ass design.

And then how Brusce Willis was also undead in The Sixth Sense.

Duh!

Oh, I just remembered one....

A while ago, Elba posted pictures of her and Melba in the Members Photos thread. Since I was so inactive on the forum, I actually thought she has a twin sister and was like WHOAAAA THEY LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME!!! And then I realized a long time after that they're both her. _unsure.gif

LOL, that was hilarious. when i was first learning how to read i used to think office was off ice. i thought the office of my future elementary school was some sort of ice-skating rink. i was fascinated when i finally got to go in there, even after i saw it for what it really was.

The whole arrow in the FedEx logo thing. I can't believe I never noticed it until someone pointed it out to me a few years back.

I remember Kevin's username used to be sofakinglazy or something like that and I never got what it was supposed to be. =x I remember IMing him about it WAY after the fact and I felt really stupid.

Intentional. I just read an interview with the guy who designed it, and he said that he had to manipulate certain fonts to get the arrow just right.

It happened to me once before .. we'll, kinda.

I was in art class, and I found out that my friend's nick-name that was given to from my other friend was a name I had heard awhile back from somewhere else, I never knew who the person was, then when they gave me their msn (it had the nickname in it) I was like : OOOMMMGGG! ohmy.gif

Not a very good example, haha.
