How is college different from high school? For me, college is pretty different than high-school. Single-sexed high schools ,in my opinion (or atleast my high school) was really, really lame. I'd never do it again. My community college is co-ed so I think that's one of the main reasons why I like college better.
![]() How do you make your way to each class? Car? Walk? Either I drive myself there or I get a ride. How is the classroom environment different from the average high school classroom? Well, seeing as how I went to an all girls high school, the classroom environment is really different. But even during my classes, I feel like I'm in high school since the majority of my classmates in most of my classes are my age. How are teachers/professors in college different from high school teachers? They're pretty much the same. Some are lenient on things and some are not. What is the environment on the campus like out of the classroom? Nothing big. Once in a while, they'll hold random potluck things outside and things like that. But for the most part, it's just walking from class to class or grabbing something to eat at the cafeteria and being on your way. How do you like college compared to high school? College > high school any day. My college is a lot closer to my house than my high school was, so that's a positive, too. I couldn't wait to get out of high school, so I think that college by any means is better. How is the work in college different from high school? It's really not. Of course, it depends on which classes you take and how many you take, but a lot of my courses aren't very difficult. What kind of work is given in college? Depends on the course and instructor, really. Some give plenty of assignments, and some kind of...don't. Is there more test and papers than high school? Actually, I think I had a lot more tests and papers in high school than I do in college. What is that teacher/student relationship in college compared to high school? In highschool, the relationships between student/teacher was a bit closer. My high school was pretty small so once you had a certain teacher you pretty much knew them. In college, you never really have to speak to your teacher. At least, that's how it is in my college. You can get through a whole semester without having conversation. Is your time well managed to the amount of homework you are assigned? Yes it is. What type of extra classes are you taking? Music? It's not included for my typical requirements but I'm taking it because I want to. So I guess that could be considered...extra. ![]() Are the activities that colleges have like rallies for example different from high school? Yes. For one, you aren't required to attend. The rallies or events held at my college deal with more serious matters. Such as homelessness. High school was simply: which grade will win the cup? (Our school had contests to see who would win the Cup until the next rally. Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, or Faculty.) Are you tempted to go to parties since you have more freedom? Yes. What is the atmosphere at sports activities compared to high school? I played sports in high school so I knew what was going on the majority of the time. But now in college, I don't play sports, so what goes on in the athletics department is beyond me. Is there more school spirit in college then there was in high school? I think there was more school spirit in high school. Are there more activities to attend then there was in high school? There are more activies to attend in college than in high school. Do you like the activities in college more than the ones in high school? Not really. None of them appeal to me. ![]() Do you like college more or high school more?...College. Do the extra activities offer in college interest you more? No, not really. ![]() Do you like the teacher-student relationship in college more than high school? In college. Is it easy making friends in college? Yes, it is. ![]() Is the college campus livelier than high school campuses? Well, as far as environment goes, my college is sort of on a big mountain surrounded by residential areas. My high school was across the street from a mall and near downtown. I would say my high school was a bit 'livelier'. What is your favorite thing about college? The option of actually going. |
