Gas prices f**king went up overnight. It is over $4 ALL OVER now (where I live). Wtf? Gas station where I filled up two days ago, which was $3.93 at the time, was $4.09 today. AHHHHHHHHHHHH

So, now the average in CA has hit $4.00 cry.gif

I don't know how much more of this I can take. So, how high do gas prices have to be before you change your habit? And what will you do?
As for me, I think if it goes to $5, I'll buy/lease a prius or something.... gah, I can't even afford a new car but it's going to get to the point where I can't afford a tank of gas, either.

/rant.

If you think about it, it's pretty much even. Californian's make more than us in Missouri, so you should pay more.

It's $4.09 in Atlanta too. As soon as you get out of the city, though, it's like $3.79, probably even less outside the perimeter. I forgot to check the gas stations around here.

It's like 3.69 here. If it gets to 5, my parents are probably going to take my car and sell it. For gas money.

Prices in the south have been sky-rocketing, lately. I'm pretty positive it'll get even higher during the summer. :(

I'm with you though -- I'm waiting 'til 5 dollars to begin cutting down. One of my cars gets 23 mpg, and the other gets 32 mpg. Since I only use the car on the weekends, it isn't too much of a hassle for me. But every time I go fill the tank up, and the bill turns out to be around $40, I cry a little on the inside. :(

It's about $4.20 for diesel, and for normal gas it's around $3.95
For the diesel truck we have, it costs about $160.00 to fill up.

It sucks since you have to drive quite a distance to get to college, BLABLA. Ack, at least 20 miles each way, for both of us! Fortunately Tony's driving and his parents pay for gas. They don't like to, but they have to. ^^; But dude, Costco gasoline is $3.97 or something for regular. wink.gif But we haven't filled up there yet. D:

It used to be $65 for the Lexus, now it's going to be $70 to fill up. NOOOOOO cry.gif

$3.99. It hasn't quite hit 4 dollars. LOL. My car gets poor gas milage... and where I live I don't have public transportation and it's too dangerous to bike.

Elba, I feeel you. I've been wanting a prius for so long. 45mpg/50mpg is beyond amazing. my car gets on average 17mpg. :(

and gas prices are also around $4.15 for premium. For unleaded it's either 3.83 or 3.93 or something. When gas prices are half minimum wage, you know something is definitely wrong!!

I need a bike. That way you can get exercise, save the environment, and save money!

Making 12 bucks an hour, you can't rake in a little over $600 a month? Do you work 2 hours a week? I only make 9 and can make a little under a thousand, depending how much I work.

And wtf are we going to do with all the batteries after they eventually die in the hybrids? They collect in a landfill. Defeats their purpose.

Who the f**k would still use premium?

Honestly, people who are willing to pay for premium gas shouldn't whine about the prices.

Also, what's this about people paying gas bills? Do you have a particular card you use?

Some cars can only handle premium gas, and if they use unleaded then it isn't good for their car I guess. Iono. There was this debate about it didn't really matter what gas you use, it's all the same really.

As for paying gas bills, I'm guessing they use their credit card to charge when they go to the gas station. I do that sometimes.

It just seems crazy. My dad, for example, recently bought some huge SUV and apparently feels that it's necessary to use at least medium grade gasoline. So when he bitches to me, I don't really sympathize at all, because it's entirely his choice to have bought a gas guzzling car and then put more expensive gas in it. Stop that shit, and help me afford my regular unleaded instead.

I always use my debit card, but I've never bothered at add up what I've spent at particular places when I get my statements. hm.

i don't see how that point even makes sense considering NON hybrid cars also have batteries, and their lead batteries happen to be more toxic than the nickel ones in hybrids today. they'll be a lot more toxic than the lithium, which is what hybrids are going to end up going to.

Some cars can only handle premium gas, and if they use unleaded then it isn't good for their car I guess. Iono. There was this debate about it didn't really matter what gas you use, it's all the same really.

A lower octane would result in lowering the longevity of the engine life, and higher end models (i.e. sport cars) requiring premium might break down after having been filled up with "regular unleaded." Higher octane allows you to have the maximum efficiency out of your engine, ONLY if the engine requires a higher octane. I know the rx7 had a little hiccup with 89 or 87, instead of 91. BTW Hawaii has 92 octane gas. Man it was so expensive there, last summer. D:

BTW BLABLA I work 12 hours a week, but I make around $440/month as well. Damn you and your $12/hour! lol

gas prices are bad, no matter what you fill your car up with. prem, reg, diesel, what ever you fill it up with, it's high. i have a lexus and it requires for me to use premium only. i decided since it's 11 years old, i'll just use the cheapest one. and i have noticed that sometimes my engine isn't in the best shape.

gas is arguably and could be all the same, who knows. they could be scamming us, whatever. they're doing a good job and something needs to change about this out of control gas price.
