Yes!

I've gotten a bit tired of them lately but I hope their new album is good and refreshing.

I downloaded as soon as the real thing leaked (there's been a German imitation going around for a while), but haven't listened yet. The single was really unimpressive.

I listened to their single. Was it "I Will Possess Your Heart"?

Yeah. There is no need for that song to be 8 minutes long.

Yeah, that one. I meant to download the radio edit to see if it was any better without the absurd intro, but somehow I don't think it was just impatience that made the meat of the song so tedious.

^ No, the radio edit would have been just as bad. I was not impressed!

the album is kind of boring....I'm trying to force myself to listen to the entire album so that I can pick out some good songs..but it's been 4 hours and uh..I'm listening to the radio right now.

(I couldn't even make myself listen to the whole thing)

iuno, it could just be that I need to focus on listening to the music only and not be doing anything else; DC4C has a more lowkey sort of approach to their songs this time, doesn't stand out too much

But the presence of that track alone would disrupt the kind of mood and solidarity of the album that made Transatlanticism so great. It's shallow, and the lyrics are ridiculously bad. I'll stand by my love of Transatlanticism in the face of Death Cab criticism, but that song is indefensible, especially following the thoroughly mediocre Plans. I still haven't managed to listen to Narrow Stairs because I'm discouraged and find myself wanting to listen to other things more.

^Lucky a-hole.

Actually, Tung, on second thought I'm not that jealous. I've been listening to this album for a while and I am so incredibly underwhelmed. I am trying hard to like it, but maybe I need time to absorb it.

Some first impressions:

Talking Bird sounds exactly like every other song on Transatlanticism and Plans.

No Sunlight made me want to kill myself.

Is it just me, or does the insane intro of "I Will Possess Your Heart" remind you a bit of an EXTREMELY watered-down Radiohead? Especially after the 1:00 point.

"You Can Do Better Than Me" - the timpani killed it.

Will post again if opinions change.
