I have a question about dentist bill and my insurance policy.

Lets say i go to the dentist to get a filling, and the total is $1000. They say my insurance will pay for it, so they gave me a filling. NOW, my question is this.

If i quit my job that pay for my filling after i got my filling, will my job benefits pay for my filling? I was told that if i go to the dentist and they say i have a balance of $1000 from my job. So i go ahead and have a filling which costs $1000. After my filling, i decide to quit the job. Will my job pay for the filling or will i have to pay for it since i quit? Considering dentists and hospitals take only a certain amount of money from my health benefits and not the $1000 at once. Do you guys know what i mean?

Here's another example.

I've been told that sometimes, hospitals and dentists take some money out of that $1000 from my insurance and not just take $1000 at once. You guys know what i mean? Do they take that $1000 out at one time or do they take some each month or something? Or what if i decide to quit after i get my filling. Will my health benefits cover for my filling or will they make me pay? Remember, my dentist gave me a filling while i was under the health benefits, but after the dentist gave me my filling, i decide to quit a week later. So will my health benefits make me pay for the filling or will they?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think that might depend on the company you work for and the type of contract you have with them in terms of health benefits.

I would talk to other co-workers to get a feel for their experiences and also go through any legal papers that might have the information. Getting straight to the source such as whoever you're insured under would likely give some useful answers.

Tung, it depends on your work's policy regarding how long benefits last after unemployment. Typically they last until the end of the month that you are in. (For example, if I quit today, I'd have benefits until the last day of May). The minute your benefits are inactive (which in my scenario would be June 1), you pay 100% fee for service.

Essentially, if on the day you received services your company benefits were still active, you are ok. They cannot retro actively bill you because you are no longer with the company if you had services rendered while benefits were active.
