I think that it'd be interesting and helpful to have a subforum or section for website reviews. It can be it's own subforum or even within showcase. I know that this sounds like what the showcase forum's purpose is, but website reviews are helpful because people can get feedback about more than just their design. It can be separated into different subforums such as blogs, portfolios, forums, etc. Each thread can be in a form of a poll with ratings (1-5 stars) and viewer feedback can include comments about content, design, professionalism, etc. People will submit their website for review once, instead of showcasing it every single time there's a new layout.

Kind of like this: http://www.yoursite.nu/websites/5666

I personally think it'd be a good addition because people always want more hits on their website and the more reviews, the better, so it'll possibly bring more people and traffic to cB, which is a plus. It'll also bring more views to the individual sites being reviewed, so it's a plus for them as well. It's... basically a win-win situation, no?

I like the idea of only have to submit it once, but then would that mean that we would make subforums in the Showcase forum... like a subforum for Websites, one for Graphics, etc.?

Hm. The way I envisioned it was something similar to the myspace/cb/etc layouts pages on cB.

But in forum form, I think that "Website Reviews" would be a subforum in showcase, then in that subforum, there'd be several other subforums such as "blogs," "portfolios," etc. And the rest of the showcase forum would be exactly how it is already. iuno, that's just how i saw it.

If anything, I think it should be incorporated with the affiliates. We can just add a rating system and just have the comments as the reviews?

Then they can withdrawl from it or just ignore them, whats the big deal with getting comments? Did you piss someone off?

^EDIT/ TO ADD - Affiliates can already receive comments anyway.

I think that if we put too many subforums in the showcase booth it's just going to confuse some people. The Showcase booth doesn't get a ton of traffic as it is, and if we have a lot of subforums there it might become a hassle. although it would be nice and more organized... but right now we don't have a problem with being able to tell if the person is showcasing a website or a graphic or whatever.

I like the idea of having them with affilates. Just throwing it out there, but it would be nice if the showcase booth stayed as it is and someone who didn't want their website reviewed on here but there layout could still post their layout in the showcase booth...

^We could always add a subforum in the showcase booth called Website reviews, and we can add the voting system to that forum and have reviews? I mean if we wanted this now, this could be a very quick and easy possibility

That's a good idea.
How exactly do I get to the affiliats section? I can't see a link to it from the main forum page and can only get to it through micron's thread in Announcements.

Hey, that's a really good idea! I agree that it could be linked with the affiliates section, although I'm not really sure how to respond to the question of what to do if you don't want your site rated or reviewed..
