The menu is a bit choppy. Like I can't click on them without me moving my mouse around.

It loads immediately for me.

Thats not the best idea, I would suggest making it a bit smaller so people don;t have to press F11 everytime they go. Or use some crazy evil javascript to resize the browser window like on internetisseriousbuisness.com.

The biggest problem I see is that in the navigation, you have to click directly on the text to go where you want.

Well, for a dialup user it loads slower than slow, but everything does. And not many people have dialup anymore, soo...

Anyways, I love the image and colors you used, but the text looks low quality compared to the rest of the layout. The edges like look rough...

It bugs me that the music isn't stoppable, but it isn't a big deal. Some of the links are really difficult to click. Like detective said, I had to move my pointer around to find a hotspot.

Normally I don't like when music auto-plays, but the song is nice and kind of relaxing. What's it called? :)

Like Dee said, the text looks rough around the edges. That should be fixed. So should the navigational quirks.

Otherwise, great site. The banner is pretty.

My browser didn't crash during the loading. It took about 20 seconds to load for me.

I think it's really good, actually. I like the placement for everything. Everything seems to work well, imo.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

The text - well, I published it at 100%, and I'm not sure why it keeps compressing the text in the finished swf file. I'm trying to figure that out, because... yeah, the text seems low quality for no reason.

Also, the navigation - I'll put some backgroun-color rectagles there for "seamless" clicking. I have no idea why it only wants to recognize the text only for the links.

The music - I'll add a "stop" "play" function later... this is my first flash layout period after all :] Oh and the music is "Steps of Maya" by Keiko Matsui.

I'll edit the background to make it blend a little more... and I know it looks best in full screen because then you don' thave to scroll... but you can view it just fine with the scrollbar in normal mode.

Glad everything seems to be loading correctly. I'll keep polishing this to where I run into no more quirky problems! _smile.gif

It's really pretty! Normally I also don't like it when I can't turn off the music, but this music is seriously nice. :]

I agree that the navigation text is rather low-quality, and I can't click on the link except on this little tiny strip that doesn't take up the whole text. If that makes sense.

At the top it cuts off abruptly/doesn't quite reach the top of the browser. And the bottom right corner looks like you didn't fade to white all the way to the edge of the canvas (even though I know you did 'cause the gray extends past that point elsewhere). [this is what I mean.] Kinda bugs me, but I'm nitpicky, so...... [edit: oh, nvm. You posted before I did :D]

It takes about 5-10 seconds for the status bar to load, and then another 5ish seconds for everything else. It gets stuck at 47% for a while, but then moves really fast for the rest.

I love the banner <33

I'm using Firefox. It almost crashed my computer and then it got stuck on 16% but I refreshed the page and it loaded right away after that.

The problem is the Nav. EVerything else is fine.

Hmm... even though some people are expreiencing problems, it seems like, for the most part, everyone is able to load my site with no problem. That's good to know.

The improved version should be up sometime when I'm down with exams this week :] I'll keep y'all posted.

It only took me like 5 seconds to load it... Maybe less, since I tend to count fast.

on my computers with vista it freezes around 11%. on my XP computers it loads within 10 secs. i used IE7 for all computers. i'm confused as to what is making it get stuck -=\.

the font is blurry and annoying to read. i suggest using pixel fonts, especially for flash designs. and i second dreamstar's comments about the top left and the bottom right fade.

i generally don't like sites that utilize ALL flash. i think it's better to have a combo of flash and html. also consider the fact that nearly half your visitors got stuck on the loading screen and/or had their browsers crash (i linked some people on my BL 'cause i was afraid at first that it was only my pc, but apparently everyone i linked with the exception of 2 people got stuck). i'd consider maybe changing the way it loads, or at least reviewing the script? (i don't know what's wrong with it).

overall, it's a good composition; i like the organization. it is a pretty clean cut portfolio site. just some minor tweaking needed.

i agree with everything queentot just said. you dont need this whole site in flash... you just need the top portion and the side. the rest you can code in HTML and you'd probably get more hits this way from google because flash is no good for search engine optimization.

the font is really annoying to read and the navigation is really hard to click. all in all, i'm surprised you didnt account for all this yourself.

Rachel, its a great start! There are just a few bugs to work out. The links are really hard to click on, and the flash takes a little long from the sounds of it. Make only part of it flash, also try getting it centered on all resolutions if you can.

When i clicked on the link it froze my computer for about 30 sec. and 5 more seconds once it unfroze once!

Honestly, everthing looks good except the text. I think the fonts look bad because it looks dull, faded, and choppy. That happens to me sometimes if you use fonts in Flash, so I would suggest making your text in Photoshop. The links should be easier to click on. For your first site, this is really good!

The concept is cool though! happy.gif
