I'm 14. I first got my period when I was 13 (In August). After That I Kept Skipping A Month Until January. Now Its April And I Haven't Had My Period. I'm Too Embarrassed To Tell My Mom That I Want To Go To The Gynecologist. I've Read That You Can Skip Periods For A Month, And That It's Likely To Happen If You're Skinny. I'm 5'8 And I Weigh Around 46 Kg. I've Been Trying To Gain Weight, But I Can't. Please Help Me! ermm.gif

unless you have been sexually active, i wouldn't worry too much. as you get older, your period will start to become regular.

I answered your question here, but I'll answer again since you've given more detail this time.

Okay, first, you haven't even had your period for a year. There's no need to visit a gynecologist. Your period will take at LEAST one to two (possibly longer than two, even) to become regular. When I first got mine, I'd sometimes skip my period for a few months during the first year. It could definitely be your weight that's preventing you from menstruating since you're so thin. I don't really know what to tell you about how to effectively gain weight, though.

You're young...your cycle might be irregular for a while; that's normal...my cycles are normally crazy...u skipped one month, I've skipped 3 before & I wasn't sexually active when my cycles were coming whenever it wanted to...and girl you need to eat, eat, eat!!...stress & lack of nutrients can cause your body to act weird...

it hasn't been a year yet? lol. you don't really have anything to worry about. every girl's period is irregular at one point or another, especially if they're young and just recently got it. don't worry, you're fine. but if you are too skinny, you should try eating more but sometimes its just because your metabolism is high.

Exactly. I had a friend in high school who hardly ever got her period. It was normal for her. Cycles really do vary. I don't think it's anything to worry about, really.

I'm hoping that you're not sexually active and if you aren't than I wouldn't stress too much. Stress can throw off your cycle, too. Just make sure that you're as healthy as you can be. There are VERY VERY VERY few people, who aren't on medication, who get their period the same day of the month every month. Give yourself some time and relax.
