How about you post up a few paragraphs about your qualifications, Thomas?

In my opinion, staff members aren't machines. They're a big member of the cB community as a whole and, while they have a responsibility, they still need to keep up their characters and be a human. True, sometimes they'll have to do something they don't want to do, but does it mean they have to "show no remorse"?

No offense, but you strike me as a sort of bland member of this community and as someone who's been in and out of cB and seen it change/rotate staff for over four years, I don't think you would make a good staff member. While I do think that staff members should be professional, I think they should first and foremost be people. Not ban/warn/feel-no-remorse machines.

You don't only say this about yourself, but you just said it about Anastasia up there ("she knows what she's doing, she can do the job, mostly becuase she's done it alrady"). Why do you think just because they've done it once they can do it again, when they left because something was wrong?

I was a staff member way the hell longer than you were, and I am in no way qualified to be one again right now. I'm not at all committed to this site and I only come around when I have nothing better to do. I really don't care at all and would probably step down within a month due to the apathy and constant rolling of eyes over Backstage nonsense. So, clearly, not a reason to hire someone.

I feel a bit awkward here stepping into this topic due to my slight couple-week-long inactivity-ness but after reading through these posts I'm just going to state that I agree a thousand percent with what Ersatz stated up there. If my memory retracts correctly, this isn't the first time you've stepped out an opinion almost exactly like this, Thomas. And uh, since I don't want to ramble on and on here, I'm just going to say that it's not that I/we don't hate you but it's just that I think you need to neutralize your opinion to the furthest extent. lol I remember when I was gone for a month and got demoted to mentor and then to official member. I hardly had any internet access and I was out of town that whole summer (2006-ish, I believe). Regardless, I know the people who were on staff with me at that time must've been really disappointed in me and in no way do I think that I deserve to be automatically be on staff again just because I was admin before.

A:I will be graduating in two or three weeks (may) whenever that is. I will have more time for staff, becuase I will have more time in general, I'm pretty much a loner outside of the internet, all my friends are just school friends, I don't go to parties, or hang out with people, I occassionaly date, but never get into anything serious, becuase of my own insecurties. I spend a great deal of my time on the internet now, trying to make it a focal point of my future, having an online job, and online business. I just feel in general as well as practical that I will have more time for cB, and cB staff

Most of the time, someone steps down because they don't have the resources to maintain the responsibility left for staff. Had it not been for my first natural causing event, the second would have never came up.

However, I think that when someone is ready to be back on staff, and willingly puts themself into a hiring thread, to be back on staff. they are telling everyone that they will uphold their commitment.

I think you may have twisted the meaning of experiance/longevity on staff, because I can't say what kind of staff member you were, because I hardly noticed you other than when you were admin. To me, and I said Anastasia, being on staff, should qualify someone if they stepped down, rather than being demoted. Becuase, I have never seen someone step down from a staff postion, and become more active as a member.

I wasn't demoted, ever. Three and a half years on staff total I believe? Somewhere around there. Not demoted. Definitely stepped down. :) I also definitely became more active as a member...the higher you move up, the more stupid, worthless shit you have to deal with. So, I was on the same amount of time, I just didn't post nearly as much cause I was preoccupied with modsmanship.
