i believe that you can edit it a little bit, like the contrast or something. don't add anything that doesn't make the photo look natural.

Yeah, of course they can be edited. My boyfriend edits all of his photos and submits them here. I'd encourage you not to add, like, text or make a transparent background over it to act as a "background" for layouts. Or stuff like this.
